1 EPISKOPI SERVICES SAILING CLUB Happy Valley Episkopi Tel : (during bar hours) See Distribution: Date: 7 Aug 15 Tel: (work) Mob: BFC-HQ-Estes-SO1@mod.uk NOTICE OF RACE: ESSC REGATTA: 25 th 27 th September An invitation is extended to all members of Cyprus sailing clubs to participate in the ESSC Regatta that is to be held from the25 th to the 27 th Sep 15 at Tunnel Beach, Happy Valley, Episkopi. The move from the previously advertised date is regretted and is the result of a clash with another pan-bfc sporting event. 2. Races will be sailed under The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing , the prescriptions of the RYA, the rules of each class concerned and the Sailing Instructions. 3. ESSC propose to hold a Laser 1 Series, a RS 2000 Series, a Handicap Series, a Junior Handicap Series, a General Handicap Race, a Single Handed Race and a Ladies Race. The programme is attached in Annex A. Each series must have a minimum number of 4 boats to be held, otherwise boats will sail in the handicap series. A series race will be scheduled if 4 or more boats of a single class, not already detailed, enter. 4. Competitors may register in advance by mail, or , or on the day of the races at ESSC up to 15 minutes before the race briefing time. Non-military competitors should, however, note the restrictions on access to Happy Valley outlined at Para Race Fees: Race fees are as follows: Class Series General Handicap 5.00 All Others Prizes. Prizes will be awarded to placed helms and where appropriate crews in each series or event. 7. Protests. Protests will be heard as soon as they can be arranged or at the end of each race day. Should any protest be outstanding at 1630 hrs on 27 th September 15 prize giving will continue for those races not affected. 8. Sailing Instructions. Sailing Instructions are available by mail on request, and 1

2 will be issued to competitors on registration and displayed on the Club notice board during the Regatta. 9. Insurance. All competitors must have adequate third party public liability insurance cover for racing. All competitors sail at their own risk and agree that the ESSC and its officials accept no responsibility for loss or damage to boats whilst sailed or stored at ESSC. This also applies to boats being loaded and unloaded. 10. Happy Valley Access. All those attending the regatta (who do not already possess a valid security pass for Happy Valley) must ensure the details of all attendees are passed (using the form at Annex C) to Commodore ESSC by 1800hrs Mon 14 th Sep 15. In addition, a valid ID card, security pass or passport will be required by anyone who wishes to gain access to Happy Valley. 11. Accommodation. This will remain an individual s responsibility. Camping is unfortunately not available on the Happy Valley Camp Site. 12. Boat Parking. Boat parking is available and boat trailers may be parked to the rear of the clubhouse. ESSC will be able to handle boats forwarded by land provided prior notice is given. 13. Entertainment. There will be a catered barbecue at Euros 8 per head on the Friday evening and a Curry Supper together with live entertainment at Euros 10 per head on the Saturday evening after racing. We would appreciate if anyone planning to take advantage of these meals would inform the club as soon as possible, at the latest by 21 Sep Enquiries. Due to the security situation all persons attending the ESSC Regatta at Tunnel Beach, Happy Valley must be registered to do so by 1800hrs on Fri 18 Sep 15 so that the Happy Valley Piquet Post can be furnished with a list of names of those wishing to gain access. This does not apply to Servicemen or their families (who reside with them in BFC), MOD employed civilians and their families (who reside with them in BFC), or Veterans with WSBA passes. 2. All other persons, whether sailing/crew or spectators/supporters must complete the following Registration form below. This applies to those seeking entry above the age of 16.
