2 In accordance with the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of SOLAS-74/88 life at sea and the Resolutions of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) The Russian Federation is taking the necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the safety of navigation, safety of life at sea, search and rescue ships in distress, protection of the marine environment in marine waters adjacent to their coasts, of the possible adverse effects of maritime traffic. One of the most important projects in the field of maritime safety, implemented by the Ministry of Transport of Russia, is the Regional Sefety Navigation System (RSNS) in the eastern part Gulf of Finland.
