1 Dua-e-Sanam-e-Quraish Introduction & Merits of Recitation The prayer of Sanam-e-Quraish (the idols of Quraish) is a very authentic supplication of Amir-ul- Momineen Moulana asws Ali bin Abi Talib asws and it has been recognised by all renowned Shia historians as such. It has been narrated by Abdullah bin Abbas that one night I went to the Masjid-e-Nabbivi saww to offer my late-night prayers and saw Amir-ul-Momineen asws offering his asws supplications. I decided to sit in a corner and listen to Mola Ali asws s recitation of Quran and prayers. After completing Salat ( late night prayers, shafa and witr), Mola asws recited supplications which I had never heard before. Later, I approached Imam Ali asws and said may I be your asws ransom; please tell me more about those prayers which I have never heard before. Mola Ali asws then replied, it was Dua-e-Sanam-e-Quraish and added, I swear to Allah azwj who owns the lives of Mohammad saww and Ali asws, whosoever would recite this prayer will get an extraordinary reward from Allah azwj ; similar to assisting Prophet Mohammad saww during the battles of Ohad, Badar, Hunain and Tabuuq and would achieve the martyred status in the presence of the Prophet saww. And the reward of 100 Hajj and Umara as an associate of Prophet Mohammad saww as well as Sawab of 1000 months of fasting. In addition, one will be on the side of Rasool-Allah saww and Aimah Masomeen asws on the Day of Judgement and Allah azwj will Forgive all his/her sins, despite the fact if his/her had committed sins are equivalent to the stars in the sky, grains of sand in the wilderness and leaves of all trees. Also the one who recites it will be saved from punishment in the grave, and a window from heaven will be installed in his/her grave. Insha-Allah, prayers will be rewarded, through the sanctity of the supplication, and O! Ibn e Abbas if any of our friends is, in particular, engulfed by hardship, he/she would surely find a refuge through recitation of this prayer. Ref: Misbah Kafami Page 552 Bihar ul Anwaar vol 82/85 page 260 Another narration from Mola Ali asws says: He who recites this Du a is (in terms of reward) like a marksman who have shot 1000 arrows in the battle of Badr and Uhud beside the Prophet saww. - Mustadrak al-wasa il, v4, p405, Hadith # Bihar al-anwar, v82/85, p260, Hadith #5 The Arabic text of the Dua given in this book is taken from Misbah al Kafami (page 552) and Bihar ul Anwaar ( Vol 82, Page 260). Our Allah azwj, send Your azwj j curses on them; to the extent of the evil they committed, and their covering of the truth, and ہی )رقس( ہنوتیسکوکابیقراتھکےہ اور ہنوھچڑاتےہ اےاہللانرپتنعلرک رہ اس رکنم ےک وعض یکسج اوھنں ےن اینبد ریھک اور رہ وہ قح ےسج اوھنں ےن اپھچای اور رہ م ن ب ر ع ل و ه م ؤ م ن أ ر ج و ه م ن اف ق و ل و ه و ل ي آذ و ه All the pulpit which they forcibly occupied, and the believers whom they have hurt and the hypocrites whom they have rewarded, and for the pious whom they have troubled, and اسربنمےکوعضسج رپ ہی ڑچھ دوڑے اور رہومنمےکوعضےسج اوھنںےن فیلکت دی اور رہ انمقفےکوعضےسجاوھنںےندوتسراھک اور )دخا ےک( دوتسےکوعضےسجاذیاءدی ط ر يد آو و ه ص اد ق ط ر د وه ك اف ر ن ص ر وه إ م ام ق ه ر وه For the rejected one in exile whom they brought back, and for the true one whom they drove out of the city, and their support for the disbelievers, and their atrocities towards (Your azwj appointed) Imam asws, and اور )روسل ےک ) داکتھرےوہےئےکوعضےسج واسپ ال ب الےئاورےچس دنبہوک الجونطرکےنےکوعض اور اکرفیکدددرکےنےکوعضاور ااممربقحےسیتخسربےنتےکوعضاور ف ر ض غ ي ر وه أ ث ر أ ن ك ر وه ش ر آث ر وه د م أ ر اق و ه خ ي ر The obligatory laws that they changed, and for refuting the Divine Signs, and for spreading and authorising vice, and the blood which they have shed, and the goodness, 6 out of 12

8 ل أ خ ل ف وه أ م ان ة خ ان وه ع ه د ن ق ض وه ح ل ح ر م وه ح ر ام Which they dishonoured, and the trust which they abused, and those covenant which they broke, and those lawful matters which were reverted to be unlawful, and those forbidden acts نجیکالخفورزی یک اور ااموتنںےکوعضنجںیمایختنیک اور اےنپدہعوک وتڑےنےکوعض اور الحلوکرحامرکےنےکوعض اوررحام أ ح ل وه ب ط ن ف ت ق وه ج ن ي ن أ س ق ط وه ض ل ع د ق وه ص ك Which they made to be lawful, and that atrocity which targeted at stomach (Masooma asws s body) and fractured her asws rib-bones, and, as a result of which (Hazrat e Mohsin asws ) was martyred, that 'pahlu' (closeness to Allah azwj ) وکالحلرکےنےکوعض اور وصعمہم اعمل وکدیہشرکےنےکوعض اور رضحت نسحم وک دیہشرکےنےکوعض اور وصعمہم اعملوکزیمخرکےنےکوعض اوریبن یک یرحری م ز ق وه ش م ل ب د د وه ع ز يز أ ذ ل وه ذ ل يل أ ع ز وه ح ق Which they disrespected, and the Prophet saww s writing that they shredded, and those gatherings (of the righteous) which they dispersed, and those honourables who were dishonoured, and those degraded ones who were praised, and the rights وکاپرہ اپرہرکےنےکوعض اورقحدنسپوںےکاامتجع وکرشتنمرکےنےکوعض اورزعت دار وکذلیلرکےنےکوعض اور ذلیلوروساء وک ونازےن ےکوعض اورقحداروک قحےس م ن ع وه ك ذ ب د ل س وه ح ك م ق ل ب وه ا لل ه م ال ع ن ه م ب ك ل آي ة They usurped, and the covering up of their lies, and for the altering of the Commands. Our Allah azwj! Send Your azwj curses on them for the all the Quranic Verses that they 8 out of 12

9 رحمومرےنھکےکوعض اوروھجٹوکرفبیےکاسھتلمعںیم الےن ےکوعض اورمکحوک دبتلیرکےنےکوعض اےاہللانرپتنعلرکانامتمآایتےکوعض ح ر ف وه ا ف ر يض ة ت ر ك وه ا س ن ة غ ي ر وه ا ر س وم م ن ع وه ا Altered and the obligations which they abandoned, and the traditions they distorted, and the Divine customs they forbade, نجںیمیرحفیکیئگاوررفاضئںیھنجرتکرکدایایگاورامتمںیتنس )قح( ںیھنج ریغتمایک اور وہ امتمروسم )قح( نجوکعنمرکدایایگ أ ح ك ام ع ط ل وه ا ب ي ع ة ن ك س وه ا د ع و ى أ ب ط ل وه ا ب ي ن ة And the Commands which they suspended, and the refusal of their allegiances and those claims (by the righteous) which were negated, and those proofs (evidences) اور وہامتم ااکحم )قح(ںیھنج لطعمرکدای اور و تعیبہ ےسجالھبڈاال اور وہدوعی قحےسجابلطرقاردای اوروہواحضوبثت أ ن ك ر وه ا ح يل ة أ ح د ث وه ا خ ي ان ة أ و ر د وه ا ع ق ب ة ا ر ت ق و ه ا Which were rejected, and those excuses which they fabricated, and their dishonesty and breach of trust, (their acts of) climbing on the hill (for their lives), نج اک ااکنر ایک اور وہ ےلیح اہبےن و رتاےش ےئگ اور وہ ایختن و ربیت یئگ اور وہ اہپڑی سج رپ ہی اجن اچبےن ےک ےیل ڑچھ ےئگ د ب اب د ح ر جوه ا أ ز ي اف ل ز م وه ا ش ه اد ات ك ت م وه ا And those fixed rules which they changed and all the defects which they promoted, and those testimonies (three or more) which they had terminated, and اوروہ نیعمراںیہںیھنجوھچڑدایایگ اور وہیجکےسجاایتخرایک اور وہاہشدات ںیھنجاپھچایایگ اور 9 out of 12

Our Allah azwj curse those two, secretly as well as openly, و تیصہ و ےسجاضعئرکدایایگ اےاہللاندوونںرپ تنعلرکوپدیشہودررپدہ ال ع ل ن ي ة ل ع نا ك ث يرا أ ب دا د ائ ما د ائ با س ر م دا ل ان ق ط اع ل م د ه Curse immeasurably, persistently, without an end and innumerable times. Curses for a limitless duration, and اوراظرہواالعہینوطررپ ایسیتنعلوریثک )امشیبر(وہ ادبی )لقتسم( وہ دایمئ )ہشیمہرےنہوایل( وہ اگلاتر وہ ہنرےنک وایلوہ )ایسیتنعلیکسجددتمتخہنوہ( ل ن ف اد ل ع د د ه ل ع نا ي غ د و أ و ل ه ل ي ر و ح آخ ر ه ل ه م For unlimited number of times and without any bounds. A curse that commences from the first one and still continues after the last one of them, and اور اکسج دعد ےننگںیمہنآےئ ایسی تنعل و اولوکریھگے اورآرخی کتمتخ ہن وہ اور ل ع و ان ه م أ ن ص ار ه م م ح ب يه م م و ال يه م ال م س ل م ين ل ه م (Same sort of curse) on their helpers, and their associates, and their lovers, and their friends and their Muslimeen (submitters), تنعلوہاےکاحویمںرپ اورددداگروںرپاوراےکاچےنہواولںرپاوراےکدووتسںرپاوراےک املسمونںرپ ال م ائ ل ين إ ل ي ه م الن اه ض ين ب اح ت ج اج ه م ال م ق ت د ين And those who are inclined towards them and those who stand with them in their protests (against Divine Justice) and those who follow 10 out of 12

11 اور ایکن رطف رتبغ رےنھک واولں رپ اور ا ےک ااجتحج رپ مہ آواز وہےن واولں رپ اور ا ےک الکم یک ب ك ل م ه م ال م ص د ق ين ب أ ح ك ام ه م Their words and those who approve of their actions. ادتقاءرکےنواولںرپاوراےکابلط ااکحمیکدصتقیرکویناولںرپ م ر ات ث م ق ل أ ر ب ع Then recite four times- رھپ اچر رمہبت ںیہک ا لل ه م ع ذ ب ه م ع ذ ابا ي س ت غ يث م ن ه أ ه ل الن ار آم ين ر ب ال ع ال م ين Our Allah azwj! Send such a harsh chastisement upon them, that the dwellers of Hell start screaming for mercy.
