1 Kabouter (Trapper 300) yacht for Sale 5999 The Trapper 300s were all built as dual-purpose cruiser-racers. In total about 180 were built by Trapper Yachts of Poole and in common with most other quarter-tonners of the period, the Trapper has a wide beam and very flared topsides, giving a lot of power to windward if you put crew weight outboard on the rail. Nevertheless, she has enough ballast to be sailed efficiently without racingstyle crew placement.

2 We have been the proud owners of Kabouter for 3 seasons and are selling as we intend to move up to a bigger boat to do some more cruising. The Trapper 300 is an extremely popular boat that offers impressive performance. An easy and rewarding vessel to sail, with a deep safe cockpit making it suitable for a family cruiser or club racer. We have used Kabouter for some light club racing with friends and family and have completed some trips away locally which have been very pleasurable. This would make a great first time yacht or a great club racer. We even won a couple of races this year! The well laid out accommodation sleeps 5 people with 2 berths in the fore peak, 2 berths in the saloon and a single berth situated under the cockpit. The double berth in the main compartment is very comfy and the twin skinned nature of these yachts means it s nice and warm. There is a separate heads compartment with a marine toilet. The galley is equipped with a sink and a butane 2 burner hob & grill. All woodwork has been re-varnished. There is 5ft 8in standing headroom in the main compartment In 2016 the hull was taken back to gelcoat and antifouled, the hull was in excellent condition under 10 years worth of old antifoul. The engine has been well maintained with the cylinder head being re-skimmed and the injection system begin overhauled. It has got excellent compression and a first time starter. This winter fitted a new engine anode and a new water strainer as part of my maintenance routine. I generally do two oil changes per year. It s cheap to run (I used only 3 gallons of fuel this season and we used her 35 times!) Insurance is reasonable at around 145 per year. This is a great yacht and for the money you will be hard pressed to find a boat in better condition antifouled with semi hard racing antifoul sails are now rigged and the boat is ready for the season. All you need is a mooring and if the boat is staying locally the sailing club may be able to assist with this. For Saltash Sailing Club members, there is the option of keeping the boat on the same mooring for the remaining of this season just 30m from the shore.
