1 ض ش ض ج م ة ا لق ص د ة ال Qasīda Mudariyyah A poetic Salawat by Imam al-busayri Rahimahullah O Allah, send blessings upon the Chosen One al Mukhtar from the tribe of Mudar and upon the Messengers and all the Prophets that have been previously mentioned. And send blessings, O my Lord, upon the Guide and his followers, and upon his companions who spread to maintain the religion. They fought with him, and strove for Allah, migrated and sheltered him and were thus victorious. They clarified the obligations (fard) and the Sunna, sought refuge in Allah and thus triumphed. 2 ن ج ش ج Diffusing the pure fragrance of musk and from its fragrance may the scent of pleasure spread. May it be multiplied by the number of stones, the grains of soil and sand, followed by the stars in the sky, and the vegetation on the earth, And by the weight of the mountains, followed by the drops of water and rain, May it be multiplied by the number of leaves that the trees hold, and every letter ever to be uttered, read and scribed, And (by the number) of beasts, birds, fish and animals, followed by the jinn, the angels and humans. 3 ت encompasses, and by what the Pen of decree and what destiny has written And by the number of all the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon the creation from the time of their creation to the time of their resurrection, And by the magnitude of the Sublime that honoured the prophets and the angels and gave them glory, And by the number of all things in the universes, O my Helper, and by everything that will be until the horn blows. And with every blinking of the eyes of the people in the heavens and the earth, and in the moments of stillness, And (multiply) by everything that the heavens and the earth contain including the mountains, and the ح ط و ال ع ل و م ا أح اط ه ال م و ر و ال ق د ر ال أ م ا ج ر ى ه القل م ن ن ت ا ع م ائ ك الال و ع د ن وا و م ذ الخال ئ ق م ذ كن ع ل ح ش وا وع د م ق دار ه الس ام الذ أم ال ك و ش ت ه الن و ن و ال ا ت خ ر وا س ن د أ ك و ان و ع د م ا ك ن ال ن ت ع ث الص و ر و م ا ك و ن إ ل ى أ ن طر و ن ا ة ع ك طر ن أو أر ض و ال أهل الس م و ات ذ ر وا ن م ع أر ض و ال م ل ء الس مو ات ج ل و ال ر ش و الع ر ش و 3

4 ق ت ت ت lands, the Throne, the Footstool and whatever they encompass, And may the blessings be by the number of what Allah has not created and by what He has created with a continual blessing that does not end. May it encompass the number of all things that have passed throughout the ages. May it have no end or limitation, O Great One, nor a period that is concluded or contained. And double the amount of what has ever been enumerated, doubled (again) and multiplied, O the One Who is Most Able. As You love and as it pleases you my Master and as much as You have commanded and destined us to send blessings. ص و م ا ح ص وا الك رس و ج د د م هللا م و ج و دا و أ م ا أع ن ح س ت د و ام ا ل م ع د و ما ص ال ة ج ع الد ه و ر ك ا تس ت غ ر ق الع د م ع و ل تذ ر لح د ل ت ط اء ع ظ له ا غ اة و ان له ا أ م د ق ض صى و ع ت ل و ل و ع د أ ض ع ا م ا قد م ر م ن ع د د م ن ل م ع ض ع أض ع ا ه الق د ر ا د و ك ا و ت ض صى س ك أم ر ت نا أ ن ن ص ل أن ت م ق ت د ر With greetings, by the number of all that has been mentioned, my Lord, and multiply it, so that the blessings are spread far and wide. 4 م ع الس الم ك ا قد م ر م ن ع د د م ا و ال ض ل م نت ش ر و ض اع

5 ج ق ن And may it be multiplied by Your worth and by the breaths of Your creation whether it be little much. O my Lord, forgive all those who recite it, listen to it and all the Muslims wherever they may be. And forgive our parents, our families and our neighbours, and all of us, O Master, we are in need of Your forgiveness. I have come with sins that are innumerable, but Your forgiveness does not end or perish. And with grief that occupies me from all that I aspire to, and I come with humility and heartbroken, I beg You, O Lord, in both Worlds to have mercy on us, by him in whose hands the stones glorified (Allah) O Lord, increase the good (favours upon us) and forgive us, for indeed Your Generosity is an ocean unlimited, 5 و ك ذ ال ك م ض و ق ك خ لق ك إ ن قل وا و إ ن اس أن ك ث وا ا و س ام ع ا ر و اغ ر ل قار ن ع ا أن م ا ح ض وا و ال سل س ات ن ا و و ال د ن ا و أ ه ل نا و ج ع و م ت ق ر د ى ل ل و ك ن ا س ت ت ذن و ل ع د اد ل ه ا و قد أ و ل ذ ر ل ك ن ع و ك ل م ا أ غ ه أ ش غل و اله م ع ن ك و قد أ ل م ن ك ق ت ى ى خ اض ع ا و ال الدار ن ت ح ن ا أرج و ك ر ج اه م ن د ه س ح الح ج ر ر أ ع ظ م لن ا أج ر ا و م غ ر ة س ن ح ص ر ل إ ن ج و د ك

6 ث ث ج And alleviate the anxieties of a distressing nature, and relieve us of sorrow, You are most Able. And be kind with us in every calamity, with a beautiful kindness by which distress is no more. By the (honour) of Mustafa, the Chosen one, the best of creation. In his praise, the chapters of (the Qur an) were revealed. And blessing be upon the Chosen one for as long as the sun rises and the moon shines. And may (Your) pleasure be upon Abu Bakr, his Khalifa, who maintained the religion after him victoriously, And upon Abu Hafsa, al Faruq, his companion Umar who had the final word by his judgement. أخ الق ض ائ ق ة له ا ال و اقض د و ن ت م قت د ر ن ج ال ك ر ع نا أ و ر ن ز ة ل ط ا نا ك و ك ن ل ل ط ا ال ه أ ال ه و ال تن ح س أ ن م و جح ت ىى خ ال ص ط ال ل م د ح ه الس و ر ة ن زلت م ن ج الل خ ح ت ار م ا طلع ت الص ال ة عل ال ش س س ال ار ن و م ا قد ش ع ش ع الق م ر ر ك خ ل ت ه الر ض ا ع ن أ م ن قام م ن ع د ه ل لد ن نت ص ار و ق ن ال ح ص و ع ن أ ال ص ل ص اح ه م ن قو ل ر أح ك م ه ع And grant generously to Uthman the possessor of two lights, whose good 6 و ج و ر د ل ع ث ى م ان ذ الن ن م ن

7 ن ن qualities were accomplished with victory in both abodes. And likewise to Ali with his two sons and upon their mother, the people of the mantle as has been related in the Hadith. And also upon our Sayyida Khadija al-kubra who spent her wealth for the Messenger of Allah to gain victory. And upon the pure wives of Mustafa, and also upon his daughters and sons whenever they are mentioned. الدار ن و ح اس ن ال ل ت ل ك الظ ر م م ا كذا ع ل م ع ا ن ه و أ د ج اء ن الخ ا ق أه ل الع اء ك ت ال ك ى ك ذا خ د ج ت نا ال م و ذل ت أ ت ص ا ل ر س ول هللا ن ال ڡى م ص ط و الطاه ر ات ن س اء ال ا ذ ك ر ه و ن و ه ك و ك ذا نات And upon Sa d and Sa id son of Auf, Talha, Abu Ubayda and Zubayr, Masters of the best (of people). And upon Hamza and our Master Abbas, and upon his son, the scholar through him obscurities were no more. And upon all the family and companions and followers. 8 ت ض ج ج ض as the dark night covers the day, and dawn appears. With Your pleasure, pardon and well being and a good ending, when the term approaches.
