2 Why City Island Yacht Club? If you live in the tri-state metropolitan area, City Island Yacht Club is convenient to you. Any day of the week becomes a fine time to come out to the club for a sail! City Island is the gateway to the expanse of Long Island Sound, one of America s great boating areas. The club facilities make boat ownership and social sailing convenient, rewarding, and affordable. Our member-run community is committed to the sport of sailing, marine education, and the social aspects of a like-minded group of men and women who enjoy time on and by the water.
3 For over a century City Island Yacht Club has been a vibrant and welcoming community for boaters on Eastchester Bay in western Long Island Sound. Our club is a friendly gathering place for all those who enjoy spending time on the water. We re open to cruisers, racers, and any and all recreational sailors.whether you re experienced or just a beginner, at CIYC you will find a lively, warm, and friendly home that offers membership options to suit your needs. Boat Owner Membership Our large and well maintained mooring area is sheltered and deep, providing a safe harbor for our fleet. We have the largest waterfront and the deepest dockside on City Island. This is a great and economical place to keep a boat. Our active boat owners include racers, cruisers, and day-trippers who enjoy the camaraderie of other sailors. Many of our boat owner members participate in our casual Sunday social races, regattas, weekend cruises, and Wednesday night races. Benefits for Boat Owner Membership: Full access to club amenities including locker room, dinghy storage, 24-7 in-season launch service, professional yard services, boat hauling, winter storage, participatory voting rights to shape the club s operations, and reciprocity with other Yacht Clubs.
4 Social Membership No boat? No problem! City Island Yacht Club has a strong tradition of welcoming all. If you enjoy sailing, racing, cruising or simply the ability to watch the sunset from our porch and to dine in our shoreside restaurant, this is the place for you. Our active social programs open opportunities for the non-boat owner to meet and sail with active boat owners. Benefits of Social Membership: Access to our historic club house facility, dining privileges at our private restaurant and pub facilities with outstanding sunset/dock views. With Social Membership you ll be able to participate in exciting social events, crew for races and cruises, and meet new friends. Club Boat Membership CIYC s unique Club Boat Membership Program provides all the benefits of membership without the need to own a boat.
