1 Southsea 12 th March Ken and Justine Starling Pingu If it is a day like this as we leave Itchenor Reach we will have a lovely weekend. There is good walking and cycling at Southsea, all along the sea front, and a great restaurant on the marina. Bembridge 25 th March Leader tba This is how Paul and Sharon, Joe and Heather spent their last trip to Bembridge, but it is not a requirement of this trip. Bembridge is a lovely small town, with great walks along the sand dunes, a good café on the beach and really helpful marina staff. It is also a short trip across so will suit the Easter weather well.

Gosport 25 th March Leaders Heather and Joe Baker Oxbow We will slip on Saturday morning after a briefing in the clubhouse. Supper will be booked in the Lightship Restaurant pictured below.

The ferry will take you to Gunwharfe Quay if you cannot resist a retail therapy session.

Breakfast on Sunday morning is available from the Boathouse in the Marina. The Submarine museum is interesting, as is a visit to the Old victualing Yard, now Royal Clarence Marina. The ferry will take you to Gunwharfe Quay if you cannot resist a retail therapy session. 23/24 th April Island Harbour Claire and Digby Armstrong Island Harbour is up the Medina river, beyong Cowes, and provides a calm, peaceful location within walking, cycling or tender reach of Cowes, Newport, Osborne House. Supper may be at The Breeze, on the marina, or at the Folly Inn, or at a nice little Italian restaurant we have found in Newport.

The market in the town on Saturday morning is not to be missed, and the choice of restaurants is amazing. Port Hamble 7 th May Leader tba The Hamble is a lovely place to spend a weekend.

3 Lymington Yacht Haven 30 th April Ken and Justine Starling Pingu We start this cruise with a cruise briefing and breakfast in the club on Saturday morning. This picture is the sea wall adjacent to Lyminton Yacht Haven. It is a nature reserve with fantastic wildlife and great views over the Solent towards Yarmouth.The market in the town on Saturday morning is not to be missed, and the choice of restaurants is amazing. Port Hamble 7 th May Leader tba The Hamble is a lovely place to spend a weekend. Lots of boats and water activities to watch, and great walking. The pink ferry transports you across to Warsash to the pub, the river ferry takes you upriver to the Jolly Sailor, and our own tenders take us right to the top of the navigable river to the Horse and Jockey. Not that we spend all our time in the pub, but we need to eat somewhere!. Retail therapy is also available at the excellent chandlery

East Cowes 21 st May Leader tba and this is the harbor from above. Our entry route is through the new Eastern Channel, which saves us taking the same course as the Southampton ferries.

Yacht clubs in Cowes, as in other harbours, welcome visiting yachtsmen, and there are some lovely ones here.

East Cowes is across the harbor from the town, connected via the chain ferry, and is quieter than the other Cowes marinas. Yacht clubs in Cowes, as in other harbours, welcome visiting yachtsmen, and there are some lovely ones here. Poole 28 th May Joe and Heather Baker Oxbow this is Oxbow in Parkstone Bay Marina in Poole Harbour. It was the first dry day for over a week. What a great evening. This cruise can be extended to last a week or more if the participants wish. There are 3 good marinas in Poole Harbour, offering slightly different experiences. It is only a couple of hours cruise to Weymouth from here, and that is a good starting point for trips further west, or to the Channel Islands. Detailed plans will be made when we know is interested.

5 Bucklers Hard 4th June Digby and Claire Armstrong Birdsong Bucklers Hard is a great favourite with the Motor Section. There is a fantastic walk through the woods to Bealieu, a great pub, the Master Builders, and ayou can learn a bit about the history of boatbuilding here. Yarmouth 18 th June Leaders tba This café is built on the closed railway station, it is a great lunch stop in Yarmouth. The town is a great venue for a cruise, lovely shops and several good restaurants. The cycle trip to Freshwater is really enjoyable. Facilities on the marina are good.

6 Island Harbour 2nd July Roger and Maggi Marshall Serena This fabulous sunset at Island Harbour is typical of what we see there. It is so peaceful and when the weather is kind it can be so still. Island Harbour offers opportunity to Visit Osborne House and Whippingham church, parish church of Queen Victoria and her family while they were in residence at Osborne. It has many examples of the family life of the royal family. We will be staying in Cowes Harbour for 2 nights, and visiting the Island Harbour Sailing on Saturday night.

8 Cowes 27 th August Sue and Richard Watkinson This is the cruise of the season, well organized, fun, and packed with people. Last year we had 7 motor cruisers and 3 yachts, and this is how the yacht section spent their time - polishing the mast! What sort of a job is that? We will be staying in Cowes Harbour for 2 nights, and visiting the Island Harbour Sailing on Saturday night. If you can only manage one night that s Ok, equally if you wish to stay longer, you will be able to organize that yourselves. Yarmouth and Westward 4 th September Joe and Heather Baker With luck we will get as far as Dartmouth on this trip. We intend to allow a week, but are flexible and will arrange according to participants and weather

9 Bucklers Hard 17 th September Leaders tba A second chance to visit this amazing location. Gosport 1 st October Leader tba This is the Old Victualling Yard, now known as Royal Clarence Marina. We may stay in Premier, but this is worth a visit. This is a good location if the weather is dodgy, and there s plenty to do here.
