1 Pl Rules Our tp pririty at Maple Valley Swim Club is t prvide a SAFE, CLEAN, and FUN envirnment. All members and guests are expected t fllw the rules. Althugh prvisins fr the safety f all members and guests have been made, Maple Valley Swim Club, Inc. assumes n respnsibility fr anyne using the pl, any equipment, and all surrunding areas. Staff/Lifeguards Authrity/Respnsibilities N ne may enter the pl unless a guard is n duty. Scial cnversatins with the lifeguard n the lifeguard stand are prhibited. The Manager, Assistant Manager, r Head Guard has the authrity t dismiss frm the pl any persn wh vilates the rules, regulatins, r plicies f MVSC. At any time, the Staff may curtail r restrict activities within MVSC bundaries that interfere with, r affect the safety and enjyment f, ther members. The lifeguard n duty may require anyne t demnstrate swimming ability. This swim test cnsists f: Swimming the length f the pl withut tuching the bttm Treading water fr 60 secnds Any Adult r Child wh has nt passed this swim test is required t remain in the 3-ft sectin f the main pl. Sprting games within the pl and cmpund area are at the discretin f the lifeguard n duty. The pl must be vacated immediately upn Lifeguard's signal. The pl will be evacuated immediately upn threat f a strm and fr thirty (30) minutes after thunder is heard. Lifeguards will signal when it is safe t return t the pl. Anyne in vilatin f any pl rules will be BENCHED by a staff member. Being BENCHED means yu will sit n the bench fr the designated time. Once time has been served, pl privileges will be reinstated. First ffense - 5 minutes n Bench Secnd ffense - 10 minutes n Bench Third ffense (if under age f 18) - yur parents will be called, and yu will be asked t leave the pl fr the day.

2 Health and Safety Regulatins N running except in the back play area. Chewing gum is nt permitted inside the fenced area. Spitting is nt permitted inside the fenced area. All persns are encuraged t take a sap shwer befre entering the pl. All persns re-entering the pl frm the playgrund access gate must remve grass and/r dirt frm their feet/shes/suit befre entering the water. Persns suffering frm cmmunicable r cntagius diseases, skin cnditins, sres, fungus infectins, etc. will be prhibited frm using the pl. Glass cntainers f any kind are nt permitted inside the fenced area. All injuries, regardless f hw slight, must be reprted immediately t the guard n duty. Diving is nly permitted in the diving well and in the 5 ft sectin f the pl. Running dives, back dives, and flips frm the side f the pl are prhibited. Pushing, running, dunking r any ther activity that endangers the safety r wellbeing f any swimmers will nt be tlerated. Children ver six (6) years f age will nt be permitted in the wading pl, except where circumstances may warrant as determined by the Pl Manager. When swimming, everyne must wear prper attire. Small children wh wear diapers MUST wear dispsable swim diapers. N cut-ffs r ther street clthes are permitted in the water. Pets are nt permitted within the pl enclsure. Baseball in the back field is restricted t the use f whiffle r tennis balls. The hrseshe area is fr adults nly. Supervised Swimming/Child Safety Parents/Guardians/Babysitters are respnsible fr watching all children under the age f ten (10) and all children wh cannt pass the swim test. While Lifeguards are n duty fr safety and emergencies, they are nt expected t babysit. The baby/wading pl is NOT supervised by a lifeguard. It is the parent(s) r babysitter s respnsibility t remain in the fenced area with the child(ren). Children ver six (6) years f age will nt be permitted in the wading pl, except where circumstances may warrant as determined by the Pl Manager. FLOTATION DEVICES: The nly fltatin devices permitted in the main pl are Castguard apprved vests. A limited number f life vests are available in the ffice fr shrtterm use and must be shared. 3 Members and guests are welcme t bring their wn Castguard apprved vests (get apprval frm Manager r guards befre use) The apprved vests are t be used nly in the 3-ft area and with direct, in-water adult supervisin. Usage f these shall be at the sle discretin f the Pl Manager r Head Guard n duty. Children under age ten (10) must be accmpanied at the pl by an adult member r by their registered baby sitter. Children under age twelve (12) must be accmpanied at the pl by an adult member r their registered baby sitter after 6:00 p.m. Fr the safety f yur children, the parking lt is nly t be used fr arriving and departing the pl. It is nt t be used as a playgrund fr scters, bikes, rller blades, skates r skatebards. Diving Bards/Diving Well/Slide Any activity that is deemed unsafe may be banned at the discretin f the lifeguard n duty. Diving area must be clear prir t using the diving bards r slide. When the diving bards are in use, the lifeguard n duty will signal when it is safe t use the slide. Only ne (1) persn at a time is permitted n the diving bard and ladder. Only ne (1) bunce is permitted. Swim as quickly as pssible t the nearest ladder. Persns waiting t use the diving bard(s) must wait fr the previus diver/jumper t reach the ladder befre using the bard. Diving r jumping is nt permitted frm the side f the bard. Persns wishing t use the diving bard(s) and/r slide have pririty ver persns wishing t play games in the diving well. General Regulatins All members and their guests must clean up after themselves. Office and Kitchen areas are limited t staff and adults nly. The ffice is nt a hang ut. Members are t use the kitchen respnsibly and must clean up after any use. Please limit telephne calls n the ffice phne t tw (2) minutes. Minrs caught with r suspected f using alchlic beverages will have their parents cntacted and will be remved frm the pl grunds by their parents r plice.

4 Anyne in pssessin f r suspected f using drugs n pl grunds will be remved frm pl grunds by plice. This infractin will be cause fr suspensin f pl privileges in accrdance with by-law Sectin 5.9. Parties All parties must be arranged thrugh the Pl Manager. Adult Swims Tw swim lanes will be prvided fr adult swims which are scheduled at the fllwing times: 2:00 PM 2:20 PM 3:30 PM 3:50 PM 5:30 PM 6:00 PM Adult Swims are nly fr members and guests fifteen (15) years f age r lder. It is at the discretin f the lifeguard n duty whether r nt the diving well will be pen t yunger swimmers during Adult Swims. Guest Plicy The guest plicy allws members t share the hspitality f the pl activities with their nn-member friends. Member must be present at the pl when guests are visiting. Members must sign in and pay fr guest(s) upn arrival. Members may purchase guest passes frm a staff member. ($20 fr 10 punches checks nly) Guest passes d nt expire. Guest fees are as fllws: Under age 65: Tw (2) punches per day = $4.00/guest Senir Citizens: One (1) punch per day = $2.00/guest A member is limited t six (6) guests per day. Larger grups shuld refer t the pl rental plicy. Guest passes cannt be used in place f pl rental fr private parties r picnics. Guests age ten (10) and lder must be accmpanied by a member wh is at least thirteen (13) years f age.

5 Guests yunger than ten (10) must be accmpanied by a member wh is at least fifteen (15) and will be required t take a swim test. All ther guests may be required t demnstrate swimming ability at the lifeguard's discretin. Guests are nly permitted t use the pl nce every seven (7) days. Hwever, exceptins may be made by the Manager. Swim Lessns/Swim Team/Swim Meets Swim Team seasn is May the end f July. Swim Team practices during the evening until the pl is pened full time. There will be tw (2) Wednesdays each seasn when the pl will be clsed early fr hme meets. If a meet is pstpned t anther night, this will be psted. The wading pl and the main pl are fr use during pl perating hurs nly and are nt available fr use during swim team practice, swim meets, r swim lessns. Membership Exceptins Any parent f a member wh is living with, and dependent upn, the member is entitled t full pl privileges as a family member. Any child f a member upn reaching twenty-ne (21) years f age shall n lnger be eligible fr swimming privileges unless he r she is actively serving in the military, is attending cllege, r receives full financial supprt frm his r her parents. Any child f a member seeking swimming privileges wh has reached the age f twenty ne (21) years r lder and is self-supprting, regardless f marital status, and regardless f residence, (unless therwise exempted as described abve), must pay full membership.
