Get medical attention. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult. Administer artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. First responders should wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, chemical protective clothing, and or respirators depending on airborne chemical concentrations. After Skin Contact: If on skin: Wash with water and get medical attention if burned or irritated. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes. After Eye Contact: Do not allow victim to rub or keep eyes tightly shut. Gently lift eyelids and flush immediately and continuously with flooding amounts of water until transported to an emergency medical facility. Consult a physician immediately. After Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give large quantities of water. If available, give several glasses of milk. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep airway clear. Seek medical attention immediately. Most Important Symptoms/Effects Corrosive to all body tissues with which it comes in contact. The effect of local dermal exposure may consist of multiple areas of superficial destruction of the skin or of primary irritant dermatitis. Similarly, inhalation of dust, spray, or mist may result in varying degrees or irritation or damage to the respiratory tract tissues and an increased susceptibility to respiratory illness. 3 Delayed: Burning pain and severe corrosive skin damage. Permanent eye damage including blindness could result. Symptons may include stinging, tearing, redness, swelling, and blurred vision. Shortness of breath. Indication of immediate medical attention: Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically. Symptons may be delayed. Keep victim under observation. Special Precautions / Procedures: Emergency personnel should protect against secondary contamination. 5 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Suitable and Unsuitable extinguishing media: Will not burn or support combustion. Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire, such as water spray, dry chemical, foam or carbon dioxide. Use water spray to keep containers cool.
