2 IDC Preparation Our Instructor Development Course is a comprehensive and finely tuned program, custom made to suit each individual's requirements. The right preparation will reduce your stress level during your training and will allow you to absorb the information transmitted in the course and apply it in the most practical way. The following tips will allow you to begin this important step of your training in a calm and relaxed manner. 1. Verify that you fulfill all prerequisites required to participate in the IDC: Certified PADI-Divemaster, CMAS***, SSI DiveCon, BSAC Club Instructor or Instructor affiliated with any other association Minimum age 18 years Medical certificate issued within the last 12 months Certified diver for a period of not less than 6 months, a minimum of 60 logged dives (IDC requirements) Certified diver for a period of not less than 6 months, a minimum of 100 logged dives (IE requirements) Verification of current emergency response training, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within the last 2 years 2. You must bring all certificates from OWD to DM/AI with you. We also need 3 ID photos from you. 3. To be certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor you have to be an Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI). We offer you the EFRI course within our Instructor packages for a special price. The EFRI course takes place directly after each IDC. 4. The following PADI materials must be obtained: the PADI Instructor manual and PADI s Guide to Teach. Theses materials are already included in our Instructor Packages. You can buy other PADI materials through us and enjoy our special rates. 5. Review your PADI Diving Knowledge Workbook. This is by far the best preparation for a successful completion of the 'theory of diving' test. 6. Practice the use of your dive planner (table version and erdp Multilevel). 7. Try to assist a PADI Instructor as often as possible. 8. Brush up your diving skills to presentation level. 9. Check if your personal dive equipment is complete and in good working condition. 10. RELAX! Look forward to completing your IDC and to a successful diving career.

3 PADI AI Assistant Instructor Course (4 days) Upon successful completion of the Assistant Instructor Course you will acquire the authorization to act as a course assistant and to conduct certain PADI Programs on your own. The completion of this course is also a requirement to participate in the OWSI Program. PADI OWSI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (5 days) In case you are already a PADI Assistant Instructor or an Instructor affiliated to another association, you can increase your career expectations in the diving industry by continuing education to become a PADI Instructor. As a PADI Instructor you will have excellent career options in the diving business. PADI IDC Instructor Development Course (9 days) The cornerstone of the PADI Instructor training is the PADI Instructor Development Course. This program consists of 2 components the Assistant Instructor (AI) Course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Course. The combination of both courses is the IDC. As well as learning how to teach in the class room, the pool and in open water, you will also learn to apply all PADI teaching aids and support materials effectively. Instructor Packages the All-In-One-Solution In order to obtain a comprehensive and stress-free education we recommend booking one of our Instructor packages. Here we combine several courses and lots of extras on a discounted rate (e.g. teaching materials, PADI fees, EANx Instructor course included etc.). Attention: Our listed prices are final - ALL PADI fees and ALL Materials for the IDC are included! PADI IE Instructor Examination (2 days) After having completed the IDC or OWSI Program, you have to participate and pass an Instructor Examination in order to be certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. The Instructor Examination is an evaluation program in which you repeat what you have learned in the IDC. The following skills will be examined: theory of diving knowledge, class room presentation, confined as well as open water sessions and your general diving skills. All our previous candidates agreed that the IE was easier than the IDC Program. For your convenience: During the whole Instructor Examination there will be personal support from our Course Director. In the unlikely case you fail your Instructor Examination we invite you to participate on a second IDC free of charge.

4 Continuing Education Continuing education increases your value as a diving instructor and at the same time gives a good example for your future students. Career possibilities in the diving sector increase rapidly, but at the same time the competition grows constantly, especially at the more interesting destinations and work places. To optimize your chances it is necessary to give a better performance than the average instructor. Continuing education is putting you ahead of the others as well as increasing your income.
