3 SKILL SHEET # 1 Produce Effective Hand & Master Streams from Static Source Performance Evaluation: The evaluator shall verify the candidate has the ability to produce effective hand and master streams from a static water source, given a fire department pumping apparatus, static water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose. JPR: Tasks: Produce effective hand and master streams. The candidate, given a fire department pumping apparatus, static water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose shall produce effective hand and master streams so that the listed performance steps are completed. Equipment Required: fire department pumping apparatus, static water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose 1. Positions fire department pumper to operate at a static water source. 5. Assembles hard suction hose as necessary. 6. Operates primer and primes centrifugal fire pump. C 7. Produces effective water stream from static water source to master stream device. C 8. Produces effective water stream from static water source to handheld nozzle. 9. Operates auxiliary cooling system. 10. Calculates friction loss and gallons per minute for each scenario given. 11. Assembles hose lines, nozzles, valves and appliances as necessary. 12. Operates the volume/pressure transfer valve (multi-state pumps only). 13. Operates pressure control system. Total 9
4 SKILL SHEET # 2 Produce Effective Hand & Master Streams from Pressurized Source Performance Evaluation: The evaluator shall verify the candidate has the ability to produce effective hand and master streams from a pressurized water source, given a fire department pumping apparatus, pressurized water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose. JPR: Tasks: Produce effective hand and master streams. The candidate, given a fire department pumping apparatus, pressurized water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose shall produce effective hand and master streams so that the listed performance steps are completed. Equipment Required: fire department pumping apparatus, pressurized water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose 1. Positions fire department pumper to operate at a pressurized water source. 5. Opens tank to pump and tank fill to begin circulating water. 6. Connects supply lines to pressurized source. 7. Operates air bleeder valves as necessary. 8. Slowly and safely opens correct intake valve, noting incoming pressure readings. 9. Closes tank fill valve to prevent overflow. Closes tank to pump valve. C10. Produces effective water stream from pressurized water source to master stream device. C11. Produces effective water stream from pressurized water source to handheld nozzle. 12. Operates auxiliary cooling system. 13. Calculates friction loss and gallons per minute for each scenario given. 14. Assembles hose lines, nozzles, valves and appliances as necessary. 15. Operates the volume/pressure transfer valve (multi-state pumps only) 16. Operates pressure control system.

JPR: Tasks: Effectively switch from internal tank operations to operating from a pressurized water source to produce effective hand and master streams. The candidate, given a fire department pumping apparatus, pressurized water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose shall produce effective hand and master streams so that the listed performance steps are completed. Equipment Required: fire department pumping apparatus, pressurized water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose 1. Positions fire department pumper to operate at a pressurized water source. 5. Opens tank to pump/tank suction. 6. Identifies and opens correct discharge valve. 7. Builds correct pressure for discharge line. 8. Correctly sets pressure control device. C 9. Assembles hose lines, valves, and appliances as necessary. 10. Transitions to pressurized water source in a coordinated manner, with minimal loss or increase in discharge line pressure. 11. Adjusts throttle to compensate for the additional intake manifold pressure. 12. Readjusts pressure control device as necessary. 13. Refills tank as necessary. Total 8
6 SKILL SHEET # 4 Change to Static Source from Tank Performance Evaluation: The evaluator shall verify that the candidate has the ability to safely transition from internal tank operations to operating from a static water source so that effective hand and master streams are produced and maintained. JPR: Tasks: Effectively switch from internal tank operations to operating from a static water source to produce effective hand and master streams. The candidate, given a fire department pumping apparatus, static water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose, and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose shall produce effective hand and master streams so that the listed performance steps are completed. Equipment Required: fire department pumping apparatus, static water source, master stream device, hand nozzle, 100 feet of 2½ discharge hose and 100 feet of 1¾ discharge hose 1. Positions fire department pumper to operate at a static water source. 5. Opens tank to pump/tank suction. 6. Identifies and opens correct discharge valve. 7. Builds correct pressure for discharge line. 8. Correctly sets pressure control device. 9. Assembles hard suction or other connection hoses as necessary. C10. Transitions water supply from internal tank to external static source in a coordinated manner with minimal loss or increase in discharge line pressure. 11. Adjusts throttle to compensate for the additional lift required for the external static water supply. 12. Readjusts pressure control device as necessary. 13. Refills tank as necessary. Total 8

JPR: Tasks: Produce a foam fire stream. The candidate, given a fire department pumping apparatus, an internal tank, a pressurized hydrant, foam-producing equipment, and 100 feet of 1¾ fire hose, shall produce a foam fire stream so that the listed performance steps are completed. Equipment Required: fire department pumping apparatus, an internal tank, a pressurized hydrant, foam-producing equipment, and 100 feet of 1¾ fire hose. 1. Positions fire department pumper to operate at a pressurized fire hydrant or static water source. 5. Assembles foam producing equipment and hose. 6. Ensures nozzle and educator are compatible. C 7.
