A thermostat in the vapouriser maintains a regular operating temperature. Vapour only is withdrawn from the vapouriser as the automatic liquid trap will prevent any liquid from entering the vapour service line under normal conditions. The electric instrumentation and connections are of flameproof construction in accordance with SABS 314 specifications. There is a facility enabling the heat transfer fluid in the unit to be drained. INSTALLATION: The installation and commissioning may only be performed by a SAQCC registered installer qualified in the relevant category. 1. The vapouriser should be placed on a level concrete foundation. 2. Fill the vapouriser with heat transfer fluid by removing the ¾ plug and pouring in mono ethylene glycol using a funnel. Check the correct level is reached by use of the dip stick. After filling, ensure the plug is replaced on top of the vapouriser.

3 Sheet: 3 of: 13 NOTE: Do not use ordinary heat transfer oils as a transfer medium as these affect performance and leave deposits on the element, detrimentally affecting the operation of the vapouriser. The fluid level should be regularly monitored and under no circumstances be allowed to fall below the minimum mark on the dip stick (about 30 mm below the top cover). 3. Install the isolating shut off valve REGO 7705 (not supplied with the vapouriser) onto the liquid inlet and connect the pipe leading from the liquid storage to the inlet valve on the vapouriser. Do not install any kind of pressure regulator in the liquid line. The liquid line must be unobstructed to permit liquid flow in any direction between the tank and the vapouriser. An inlet strainer is provided. A safety valve is provided for protection of the vapouriser for which a batch certificate accompanies the unit. A pressure gauge is provided to measure the outlet gas pressure. 4. A correctly sized REGO high pressure regulator should be fitted onto the 1 outlet valve. 5. Make electrical connections and earth the vapouriser ensuring that resistance does not exceed 10 ohms. 6. Pressure test the system. 7. Fit the canopy. STARTING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Ensure the vapouriser has been filled with sufficient heat transfer liquid (the correct level being between the two marks on the dip stick). 2. Switch on the electricity. 3. Allow the vapouriser to obtain it s normal operating temperature of approximately 70 C. This may take up to 30 minutes dependi ng on the model type. 4. Open the shut off valve on the liquid line between the supply vessels and the vapouriser. 5. Only after the vapouriser has reached it s normal operating temperature should the valve from the vapouriser to the appliances be slowly opened. 6. If the demand for gas is in excess of vapouriser capacity or the vapour service valve is opened too quickly, the internal liquid inlet valve will close automatically and avoid spillage of LPG liquid into the vapour line. The internal liquid inlet valve will close automatically also in the event of insufficient vaporisation due to a power failure.

4 Sheet: 4 of : 13 MAINTENANCE: 1. Check the level of heat transfer liquid at least monthly by means of the dip stick. Under no circumstances should the heat transfer fluid be allowed to fall below the minimum mark on the dip stick. 2. The heating fluid container should be emptied and flushed with fresh water every two years. The drained mixture can be re-used after being filtered. Any topping up must be done with glycol. 3. All electrical equipment should be repaired by qualified master electricians only. Should it be necessary to remove the cover of the thermostat and element, it is important that the electrical circuit be isolated and locked out before doing so. The locking screw on the housing must be loosened before attempting to unscrew the cover.

11 Sheet: 11 of: 13 TYPICAL VAPOURISER PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES The following typical examples of the ADCENG 250E Vapouriser s capability was achieved in tests witnessed by S.G.S., a Government Approved Inspection Authority. 257 kg/hour Propane with an outlet pressure of 100 kpa and an ambient temperature of 21 degrees centigrade with water as the transfer medium. 192 kg/hour LPG (60% Propane, 40% Butane) with an outlet pressure of 100 kpa and an ambient temperature of 22 degrees centigrade with water as the transfer medium. 121 kg/hour Butane with an outlet pressure of 100 kpa and an ambient temperature of 22 degrees centigrade with water as the transfer medium. A slight reduction of capacity will be obtained using Mono Ethylene Glycol as the transfer medium. The capacity of the Vapouriser is dependant on ambient temperature, product mix, product temperature which all determine the inlet pressure to the equipment at any one time. Manifolding Vapourisers may reduce the total expected capacity because of possible imbalances in the pipe work system. This should therefore be taken into consideration when designing a multiple vapouriser network.

12 Sheet: 12 of: 13 MULTIPLE VAPOURISER INSTALLATIONS The following is a rule of thumb scenario for limiting problems with Multiple Vapouriser Installations: a) Best Vapour Supply A B C D Liquid LPG Vapouriser Vapour outlets are balanced to within 3% Capacity loss. b) Poor Vapour Supply A B C D Liquid LPG Vapouriser Vapour outlets are balanced to within 5% Capacity loss. NOTE: The more Vapourisers that are added the Capacity loss becomes greater.

13 Sheet: 13 of: 13 c) Incorrect Vapour Supply A B C D Liquid LPG Vapourisers C&D can be 15% & 20% overloaded respectively while A & B are under utilized by as much as 15% & 20% the result is a Vapour Capacity that is far short of what is required resulting in liquid carry over and/or freezing of the delivery line.
