1 2017 FINA Grand Prix Events (Dependent upon funding): USA Diving s participation in the 2017 FINA Grand Prix events is dependent upon funding and all divers meeting the minimum cumulative score and degree of difficulty standards based on world trends and USA Diving s gradual raising of the bar for maximum performances (standards are described fully in Appendix 1). Please note that the below Grand Prix s are provisional dates and are not finalized at this stage! a) 2017 FINA Grand Prix events: th February Grand Prix Rostock, Germany 7-9 th April Grand Prix Gatineau, Canada Puerto Rico may have a Grand Prix event late April or early May but TBC The above FINA Grand Prix event will be selected from the 2016 USA Diving Winter Nationals in Columbus, OH December 15 th 21 st / INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: 1.1 The minimum scores must be achieved at 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championship in Columbus, OH in December, 2016 for Selected Grand Prix event. 1.2 Divers must rank in the top eight (8) in cumulative score total over three (3) lists. The top two (2) divers will have first right of acceptance and if the selection is turned down, then the next best ranked diver will be selected providing they have met the criteria. 1.3 Divers ranking in the top eight (8) of the three (3) list cumulative score must also meet the minimum degree of difficulty requirement for ALL three lists as well as the minimum cumulative score over three (3) lists to be considered for selection to a Grand Prix team.

2 1.4 If there are fewer divers who meet the minimum requirements than there are 2/ SYNCHRONIZED EVENTS: 2.1 Synchronized Teams must meet the minimum degree of difficulty in both lists as well as the minimum cumulative score over two (2) lists at 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championship in Columbus, OH in December, 2016 for selected Grand Prix event. The top ranked team will have first right of acceptance and if the Team turns down the selection, then the next best ranked Team will be selected providing they meet the criteria. 2.2 A diver may compete with a maximum of two partners at 2016 Winter Nationals. 2.3 If there are fewer teams who meet the minimum requirements than there are b) 2017 FINA Grand Prix events: - Junior Divers ONLY th May Grand Prix Madrid, Spain 5 7 th July Grand Prix Bolzano, Italy These events are for Junior Divers to build towards the 2020 Olympic Games and to provide international experience for the long term benefits. NOTE: - A Junior Diver definition as per FINA rules must be 18 years or younger as of December 31 st The above FINA Grand Prix event will be selected from the 2016 USA Diving Winter Nationals in Columbus, OH December 15 th 21 st 2016.

3 1/ INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: 1.1 The top two (2) ranked Junior divers in each event (I.e. men s 3m & platform & women s 3m & platform) will be selected providing They rank in the top twelve (12) in the finals at 2016 Winter Nationals 1.3 Divers ranking in the top twelve (12) must also meet the minimum degree of difficulty requirement for ALL three lists to be considered for selection to a Grand Prix team. 1.4 If there are fewer divers who meet the minimum requirements than there are c) 2017 FINA Grand Prix events: th October Grand Prix Kuching, Malaysia 2 5 th November Grand Prix Singapore, Singapore 9 12 th November Gold Coast, Australia The above Grand Prix events will be selected from the 2017 USA Diving World Championships Selection Trials Diving in TBC 1/ INDIVIDUAL EVENTS ONLY: 1.1 The minimum scores must be achieved at 2017 USA Diving for Selected Grand Prix event at USA Diving World Championships Selection Trials Diving in TBC 1.2 Divers must rank in the top eight (8) in cumulative score total over three (3) lists. The top ranked team will have first right of acceptance and if the Team turns down the selection, then the next best ranked Team will be selected providing they meet the criteria. 3/ REPLACEMENT ATHLETES: (All of the above events) If an athlete withdraws due to injury/illness then the next best ranked diver (or junior diver if Spain & Italy) will be selected providing they meet the selection criteria. The position may remain unfilled. 3/ DETERMINATION OF TEAM PARTICIPATION: 3.1 Determination of the final team composition will be made by USA Diving s High Performance Director (HPD) using the above criteria. Team size will be based upon availability of funding and upon the acceptance by athletes of an invitation to participate in one or more Grand Prix events. 3.2 An invitation to participate will contain a specific reply date by which the invitation must be accepted or declined. Failure of an athlete to accept the invitation by the reply date will deem to be a declination of the invitation. 3.3 Selection of the team coaches and team leader (if applicable) will be at the sole discretion of the HPD and the USA Diving CEO. In the event that a team does not have a team leader, then the selected head coach will also serve as team leader.

5 4/ COACH SELECTION: 4.1 Coach Selection is dependent on available funding and coach s availability. Up to two (2) coaches per Grand Prix events 1/ Select the coach with the most number of spots (Individual Olympic events and synchronized events are 1 spot per diver) If there is a tie a) Select the coach with the most number of athletes If a tie still exists b) Select the Coach with the lowest aggregate (Rank the divers by adding up the ranking positions i.e. 1 st place + 2 nd place = 3 and select the coach with the lowest number) If a tie still exists c) Committee of Competitive Excellence in consultation with the High Performance Director to pick the coach they believe best serves the needs of the Team.
