1 First Aid/CPR Please note the following changes in the Standards:It is important to remember that the contestant needs a partner for the 2 man CPR segment. The partner will not take the written test and will only do what the contestant tells him/her. The partner needs to know how to do compressions only cpr. Under Equipment and Materials The Judging Committee will supply the second person to help with 2 man cpr for the state contest. The winner should check with the national committee to see what rules will be in effect for the National contest. 2. Supplied by contestant a. Approved certification in CPR/AED and 2 man system b. Competitors should bring their own face mask. Resources: 2 More added American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED for Professional rescuer American Safety and Health Institute CPR/AED 2 man system Contest Description: First Aid/CPR Evaluates contestant's ability to perform procedures or take appropriate action based on scenarios presented related to CPR (Adult/AED, Child and Infant CPR) first aid Medical emergencies. There is also a written exam. All skills are judged on nationally accepted standards identified from any of the following organizations: The American Red Cross, The American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute and The National Safety Council.

4 Used the E-C clamp technique Perform a head tilt. Placed the mask on the victim s face, using the bridge of the nose as a guide for correct position. Used the thumb and index finger of one hand to make a C on the side of the mask, pressing the edges of the mask to the face. Used the remaining fingers to lift the angles of the jaw (3 fingers form an E ), open the airway, and press the face to the mask. Produces chest rise TOTAL POINTS AWARDED 240 points
