Accelerated Freefall Skydive The Accelerated Free Fall Curse (AFF) is a fast track training prgramme that can take yu frm a cmplete beginner t a fully qualified skydiver. It is split int 8 levels and is aimed at thse peple wh are keen t make skydiving their new sprt. On yur first jump yu are accmpanied by 2 instructrs and get t experience the thrill f free fall frm 12,000 feet befre deplying yur wn parachute t navigate yur way back t the grund SOLO! 2 What t expect Training takes place n day 1 and takes a minimum f 6 hurs cvering the fllwing: Orientatin and Dcumentatin Familiarisatin and Fitting f Equipment After Landing Prcedures Stability and Hand Signals Exits Level 1 Skydive Aircraft Drill and Emergencies Canpy Cntrl and Flight Drills Malfunctins and Reserve Drills Landings including Parachute Landing Fall (PLF) Abnrmal Landings Hanging Harness Drills Written Examinatin Depending n the time f the year and weather permitting, yu will either make yur 1 st jump n the same day, r n day 2 after sme revisin training. Yu will bard the plane with yur 2 instructrs ready fr the climb t altitude f between 12K 13K feet. When it is safe t d s, yu will exit the aircraft with yur 2 instructrs hlding yu in a stable psitin. During the skydive yur instructrs will cmmunicate with yu via a series f hand signals and yu will practice lcating the tggle that deplys yur parachute. At 6,000 feet yu will cmmence the deplyment sequence under supervisin f yur instructrs wh ensure that yu are under a canpy by 5,000 feet. It s then up t yu t navigate yur canpy back t the landing area with the help f anther instructr n the grund talking t yu giving yu sme helpful pinters n yur radi. The canpy ride is abut 5 minutes, s plenty f time fr yu t take in the birds eye views as well as enjying flying yur canpy. Once n the grund, yu will receive feedback frm yur instructr and a brief ready fr yur next skydive! Pints t remember The grund training is held in grups n larger than 4 students. The full curse cnsists f 8 levels althugh there may be times where yur instructrs wish yu t repeat levels fr safety reasns. There is the ptin t just d Level 1 if yu are wishing t skydive as a ne ff but lking t experience bth free fall and the sl canpy ride. Levels 1-3 are with 2 instructrs where yu are cached n stability, maintaining a gd bdy psitin and heading, altitude awareness and deplying yur parachute unassisted. Levels 4 7 are where yu learn t d 360 turns, back lps, tracking and track turns and dive exits. Level 8 is frm 5,000 feet and yu are required t make a sl jump, deplying yur parachute in a stable psitin within 10 secnds. The curse length depends n the weather and the time yu can cmmit. Smetimes peple will cmplete in less than a week r ver a cuple f weekends, whilst thers chse t spread the jumps ut ver a cuple f mnths. N previus skydiving experience is required. The upper age limit is 54 and yu can start as yung as 16 years ld! Wear warm, lse, cmfrtable clthes and trainers with n hks. There is a maximum weight limit which may vary frm centre t centre. If a jumper can sign this, and therefre selfdeclare themselves as fit t jump, they shuld just bring this frm alng n the day f the skydive. If having read all the questins, the jumper is unable t declare themselves as being fit t jump and therefre unable t sign this frm, they will then need t take BPA Medical Frm 115D (Dctrs Certificate) t their dctr t be signed and bring this frm alng with them n the day f their curse. It is suggested that yu read BPA Student Parachutist Declaratin f Fitness frm apprpriate t the curse yu wish t attend befre yu cmplete the bking frm. Frequently asked questins Can I jump with a disability? Disabilities d nt need t stp yu frm skydiving. Call us t discuss and we will be able t best advise yu. What happens if the weather is bad? Skydiving like mst aviatin sprts is weather dependent. In accrdance with BPA rules and regulatins, ur centres must perate within strict safety limits with regards t clud cver and wind speeds. If the weather is unsuitable yu will be given the pprtunity t re-schedule yur bking fr anther time at yur cnvenience. Hw lng will I have t wait t jump n the day? Can yu give me an exact time slt? We understand that it is helpful t knw when yu are likely t jump especially if yu have supprters cming t see yu jump. Sme centres will be able t give yu apprximate time slts, hwever weather cnditins can affect these times. If yu are ding a Tandem, plan fr it t be an all day activity. All centres have cafe facilities and yu can check the lcatins page n the website fr infrmatin n lcal amenities t keep yur supprters entertained shuld there be a wait. If yu are ding a Static Line r AFF curse, depending n the weather and time f year, yu may get the pprtunity t jump the same day. Hwever again yu shuld plan fr this t be a 2 day activity. What height will I jump frm? Static line jumpers will exit the plane frm 3,200 3,500 feet. Tandem and AFF jumpers exit at a minimum f 10,000 feet and at sme centres yu will fly as high as 13,000 15,000 feet, depending n the clud base and lcal air traffic cntrl restrictins. D I need Insurance? The cst f yur curse will autmatically cver yu fr the BPA 3 rd party insurance up t 5,000,000. We nly perate frm centres which are affiliated t and wrk in accrdance with BPA rules and regulatins. All instructrs are BPA qualified, extremely experienced and are current in accrdance with the annual renewal plicy. The equipment is f high quality and maintained t meticulus standards. Training is t the highest standards and in the case f Static Line and AFF which invlve sl descents, yu must pass a written test befre being allwed t jump. The plane is perated in accrdance with CAA. 6 Equipment Equipment used is regularly maintained in accrdance with BPA regulatins and is checked prir t every jump. Each curse requires the use f a dual parachute system cnsisting f a main and reserve parachute. Safety back up systems include an autmatic reserve pening device which will perate in extreme circumstances. If yu are a Static Line r AFF student yu will be given a back up radi enabling an instructr n the grund t assist yu during yur canpy descent t the grund. Can I jump if I wear cntact lenses r glasses? We will issue yu with gggles that cmfrtably fit ver glasses and help t keep cntact lenses in place. Can I breathe in free fall? Yu may feel like yu gasp fr air n exiting the aircraft especially if it is particularly cld. Hwever yu will be able t breathe quite nrmally during yur descent t the pint yu wn t even think abut it! What clthes shuld I wear? Ensure that yur clthes are cmfrtable and lse fitting. If it is a cld day, wrap up warm. In the summer yu can wear just shrts and t-shirt. Yu will be given a jumpsuit t fit ver yur clthes. Cmfrtable shes preferably trainers are advisable. Open te r shes with hks are nt allwed. Will I be able t jump with my friend? If yu are part f a grup and have a preference as t whm yu share yur experience with n the plane, make us aware f this at the time f yur bking as well as remind the centre n yur arrival. The centre will d their best t make this happen, hwever please appreciate that smetimes it is ut f their cntrl. Weight limits, the number f peple requesting vide plus the plane re-fuel schedule can smetimes dictate the manifest system. Can I get my skydive videed? Make us aware that yu wuld like yur skydive videed when bking. Yu may als be able t decide n the day. The cst f vide including camera stills varies frm centre t centre, and is payable direct t the centre n the day. 9 Terms and Cnditins UK Skydiving Adventures Ltd act as an agent n yur behalf and nt fr any f the centres that we recmmend. We nly use centres which are affiliated t and wrk in accrdance with the BPA rules and regulatins. The respnsibility fr all parachuting and skydiving activities rests slely with the parachute centre and any queries r cmplaints with regards t these shuld be addressed t the centre cncerned. Yu must cmply with the parachute centre s rules at all times. In accrdance with BPA rules and regulatins, all centres must perate within strict safety limits with regards t clud cver and wind speeds. The final decisin as t whether it is deemed suitable t jump rests with the centre s chief instructr. Maximum weights fr each f the curses will vary frm centre t centre. Yu must als be within a crrect height weight rati and this will be taken int accunt at the time f bking. If yu supply the incrrect height and weight at the time f bking and yur instructr cnsiders it t be unsafe fr yu t jump, yu risk frfeiting yur skydive plus any mnies already paid. The minimum age fr making a skydive is 16 years, and yur parent / guardian must have signed the cnsent frm if under 18 years. T make a sl descent i.e. Static Line r AFF the maximum age fr perfrming yur first parachute jump / skydive is 54 years ld, althugh sme centres may adpt a lwer maximum age. Please ensure yu check the infrmatin fr yur chsen centre n ur website befre bking. Tandem jumpers will be required t present a signed BPA Medical Frm prir t jumping, i.e. Frm 115a if yu satisfy the requirements fr self-declaratin, r Frm 115b if yu need dctr s apprval. We strngly suggest yu read these frms befre bking yur curse as depsits will be nn-refundable if yu require and are unable t get dctrs apprval t make a skydive. Sl Jumpers (Static Line and AFF) will be required t sign Sl Student Declaratin f Fitness Frm 114a prir t jumping, and if suffering frm ne f the listed cnditins r if aged 40 years r ver, yu will need t get a signature frm yur dctr. Yur instructr will be respnsible fr the final decisin as t whether yu are able t make the jump. Alchl must nt be cnsumed n the day f yur jump. If yu are cnsidered t be intxicated frm the previus evening, yu will be denied yur jump. In bth instances yu risk frfeiting any mnies paid. Fr bkings where a date is cnfirmed with the centre, and a depsit is paid with the remaining balance f yur parachute jump / skydive payable n the day f the jump / skydive (r prir t the day in the case f gift vuchers), yur jump is nn-transferrable and nn-refundable. Exceptins will be at the discretin f UK Skydiving Adventures Ltd. Fr gift vucher bkings and ther bkings where a date has nt yet been stated, yu have a right t cancel yur bking within 14 days f yu making the bking. If yu wish t cancel yur bking, yu must infrm us by r by cmpleting an enquiry frm stating yur rder reference number if issued and yur wish t cancel. Yu are advised t retain a cpy f yur cancellatin ntificatin. If yu pted fr a silver gift vucher package, yu must return the t-shirt, un-wrn in its riginal packaging t the UK Skydiving Adventures address prvided n the Cntact Us page n ur website within 14 days f yu infrming us f yur wish t cancel. Yu will be respnsible fr paying the pstage cst. Refunds will be issued within 14 days f the date f yur cancellatin, with payments being made using the same payment methd yu used at the time f bking. If yu are returning a silver gift pack, the refund will be made within 14 days f us receiving the gift pack. Gift vuchers are valid fr 12 mnths. They can be transferred t anther persn during this time at n extra cst as lng as they meet the crrect criteria (age, weight, height, medical cnditins). Gift vuchers can be extended fr a further 6 mnths by paying a 30 admin fee. The extensin must be prcessed within 1 calendar mnth f the vucher expiring. Fr ther bkings where the date has been left pen, the depsit is valid fr 12 mnths frm the date f bking. If yu need t change yur bking nce it has been cnfirmed, yu must give at least 7 days ntice and a 30 admin fee will be charged t make the change. Less than 7 days ntice will result in a 50 admin fee being charged t make the change. Failure t shw up n the day may result in yu frfeiting yur parachute jump / skydive as well as having t pay the balance wed. In this case a 50 admin fee will be charged t re-arrange yur jump. If bad weather r circumstances beynd the centre s cntrl prevents yu frm making yur parachute jump / skydive, yu may re-schedule yur jump with the centre fr anther time cnvenient t yu at n further cst. If yu fail t arrive with all relevant dcumentatin i.e. medical frm relevant t chsen curse (signed by dctr if required), cnsent frm (signed by parent if under 18 years), yu may frfeit yur jump and be required t pay the remaining balance. A 50 admin fee will be charged t re-arrange yur jump fr a later date. Refunds utside f the 14 day cancellatin plicy described abve will nly be cnsidered in mitigating circumstances at the discretin f UK Skydiving Adventures Ltd. Charity jumps must be dne with the prir permissin and knwledge f yur chsen charity. If hwever the date is unavailable, we will prvide yu with an alternative date r suggest the next nearest venue ffering the same curse. We can t accept any respnsibility if yur chsen centre has t pstpne their peratin r change their pening days. We will either arrange anther suitable date r transfer yu t an alternative centre at n extra charge.
