Every compoet udergoes strict quality ispectio before assembly ad each istrumet is fully tested prior to shipmet. 2 WIKA Operatig istructios IS-1 S Kowledge required Istall ad start the pressure trasmitter oly if you are familiar with the relevat regulatios ad directives of your coutry ad if you have the qualificatio required. You have to be acquaited with NEC. Depedig o the operatig coditios of your applicatio you have to have the correspodig kowledge, e.g. of aggressive media. 2. Warig Select the appropriate pressure trasmitter with regard to scale rage, performace ad specific measuremet coditios prior to istallig ad startig the istrumet. Observe the relevat atioal regulatios (e.g.: NEC, CEC) ad observe the applicable stadards ad directives for special applicatios (e.g. with dagerous media such as oxyge, acetylee, flammable gases or liquids ad toxic gases or liquids ad with refrigeratio plats or compressors). Esure that the pressure trasmitter is oly operated i accordace with the provisios, i.e. as described i the followig istructios. Do ot iterfere with or chage the pressure trasmitter i ay other way tha described i these operatig istructios. Remove the pressure trasmitter from service ad mark it to prevet it from beig used agai accidetally, if it becomes damaged (e. g. body tube, process coectio, electrical coectio or wirig) or usafe for operatio. Remaiig media i the pressure port may be hazardous or Warig toxic! Have repairs performed by the maufacturer oly. Cosider the details give i the respective specificatios for explosio hazard use of the coutry cocered (e.g.: NEC, CEC). If you do ot observe these stipulatios, serious ijuries ad/or damage ca occur. The electrical coectio provided o the trasmitter should be used as origially supplied ad ot bypassed or modified (other tha cable or wire legth where appropriate). Improper istallatio or modificatio of the electrical coectio will void the itrisically safe hazardous area approval ratig. Protect the diaphragm agaist ay cotact with abrasive substaces ad pressure peaks ad do ot touch it with tools. If you damage the diaphragm, o itrisic safety ca be guarateed ( M, CSA)! 6. Packagig Ispect the pressure trasmitter for possible damage durig trasportatio. Should there be ay obvious damage, iform the trasport compay ad WIKA without delay. Keep the packagig, as it offers optimal protectio durig trasportatio (e.g. chagig istallatio locatio, shipmet for repair). I order to protect the diaphragm, the pressure coectio of the istrumet IS-11 is provided with a special protectio cap. Remove this protectio cap oly just before istallig the pressure trasmitter i order to prevet ay damage to the diaphragm. Check the scope of supply: Completely assembled pressure trasmitters; with flush versio IS-11 icludig pre-assembled sealigs ad protectio cap. Required tools: wrech (flats 27or 41), screw driver Diaphragm test for your safety It is ecessary that before startig the pressure trasmitter you test the diaphragm, as this is a safety-relevat compoet. Pay attetio to ay liquid leakig out, for this poits to a diaphragm damage.! Check the diaphragm visually for ay damage. Warig Use the pressure trasmitter oly if the diaphragm is udamaged. Use the pressure trasmitter oly if it is i a faultless coditio as far as the safety-relevat features are cocered. Istallatio Remove the protectio cap oly just before istallatio ad absolutely avoid ay damage to the diaphragm durig istallatio as well. Esure that the cable diameter you select fits to the cable glad of the coector. Esure that the cable glad of the mouted coector is positioed correctly ad that the sealigs are available ad udamaged. Tighte the threaded coectio ad check the correct positio of the sealigs i order to esure the igress protectio. Whe moutig the istrumet, esure that the sealig faces of the istrumet ad the measurig poit are clea ad udamaged. Screw i or uscrew the istrumet oly via the flats usig a suitable tool ad ad the prescribed torque. Do ot use the case as workig surface for screwig i or uscrewig the istrumet. The output sigal must be proportioal to the pressure. If ot, this might poit to a damage of the diaphragm. I that case refer to chapter 9 Troubleshootig. 7. Startig, operatio USA Wirig Sealig Clampig ut Electroic board Sealig B Adjustmet of zero poit / spa (oly for pressure trasmitter with clampig ut) Ope the pressure trasmitter by detachig the clampig ut (see ig. A ) Adjust the zero poit (Z) i pressurelessstate (see ig. B ) by geeratig the lower limit of the pressure rage ad adjustig the zero offset. Adjust the spa (S) usig a pressure stadard with adequate accuracy by geeratig the higher limit of the pressure rage ad adjustig the spa. Pressure stadard with adequate accuracy meas with a accuracy that is at least 3x moreaccurate tha the accuracy idicated for the istrumet. Check the zero poit. If the zero poit is icorrect, repeat procedure as required. Close the pressure trasmitter carefully. Make sure that the sealigs are ot damaged ad check their correct positio i order to esure the igress protectio. Recommeded recalibratio cycle: 1 year IS-10 ad IS-11 pressure trasmitters iclude user accessible iteral zero ad spa adjustmet potetiometers. If calibratio is required follow the calibratio procedure below.
