2 CardiAid does not have an on-off button, automatically starts operating when the cover is opened; which provides simplicity and fastness. The user switches on the device simply by opening the cover. The user does not need to push an on-off button, which will save time in an emergency. NO ON-OFF BUTTON => SAVING TIME IN EMERGENCY CardiAid guides the user with clear instructions with optimum combination of content and duration from the beginning to the end of the whole process. The instructions are both explanatory and time efficient.

3 CardiAid guides the user with a combination of verbal instructions, pictures and lights. CardiAid is designed to assist the user with both pictures, flashing lights of different colours and sound at the same time, thus maximizing the performance. The pictures are simple and explanatory; the flashing lights are designed to emphasize the pictures and buttons, with white flashing light showing the stage of the process and red flashing light only indicating the shock button. In this way, all steps are ensured to be implemented accurately even if the user has limited knowledge or experience about resuscitation.

4 CardiAid was designed specially for public-access use. This is why inessential functions like ECG display are omitted. A nonmedical person will not be able to read this graph, and will not have to, since CardiAid will automatically analyse the heart rhythm and decide whether shock is necessary or not. 5 CardiAid s electrodes are pre-connected, which enables the device to be always ready to use and gain time in an emergency. The user is asked to press the shock-button, to ensure that the patient is not being touched or moved. ONE-BUTTON OPERATION => IMMEDIATE TREATMENT & SAFETY CardiAid performs automatic self-test daily, monthly and when the cover of the device is opened. This function enables CardiAid to be in-use without a problem whenever needed.

7 CardiAid records ECG data and event data. Last 4 events with a total maximum duration of 4 hours are stored in the internal memory. The data can be transferred from the device via Bluetooth connection to PC with a special software. Event documentation is important because if the memory of the device is small, it cannot save all the data for the whole incident. Sometimes, the AED can stay connected to the patient until they arrive to the hospital and it can be hours in rural areas. CardiAid does not only store the ECG data, it automatically creates an "incident report" with all the valuable information. This report can be obtained by the authorized service providers only, providing the security and the confidentiality of the data.

10 CardiAid CPR Check CardiAid CPR Check is a vital signs sensor which decides whether the patient needs CPR or not, by evaluating the vital parameters of pulse and breathing. With CardiAid CPR Check, the rescuer may start the lifesaving resuscitation process without loosing any time for evaluating the patient. CardiAid ECC Assistant CardiAid External Chest Compression (ECC) Assistant is designed to help the rescuer perform the most effective and consistent chest compressions. Being an easy-to-use product, CardiAid ECC Assistant is developed for emergency professionals, first aid responders, CPR trainees and instructors. 13 Maintenance Policy The time and place of a sudden cardiac arrest case is unpredictable. For this reason, CardiAid is aimed to be always ready to use, ready to save. CardiAid has a periodical maintenance policy which is standard for all countries and markets. This standard maintenance policy ensures that a CardiAid AED is always in good condition and ready to use. The standard maintenance reduces the responsibility of the user to follow the replacement dates of spare parts separately. Instead, the replacement of the battery and electrodes are synchronized to one periodical maintenance package. Also, function tests are performed with a special simulator.

14 Why maintenance is necessary for AEDs? Automated External Defibrillator is a medical device containing an electronic board, disposable electrodes and operated by a battery. An AED can be used by a rescuer who does not have any medical profession or experience. For this reason, the AED should always be ready to use whenever it is needed. Therefore every AED should be checked and maintained periodically to ensure that the device can be used safely and effectively.
