Our adherence to ANSI criteria ensure a highquality student experience. We have worked extensively in diverse and complex industrial environments such as hydro dams, gas and oil refineries, power plants, water and wastewater treatment plants, wind turbines, food processing plants, and many other industries. Our numerous train the trainer programs allow our clients to deliver effective training internally. 3 CONFINED SPACE 3 Levels of Confined Space Training Awareness: Entrant/Attendant: Entry Supervisor: Trainer/Program Administrator: Ensures that workers do not enter confined spaces without authorization. Generally provided by the employer during orientation training. No retraining requirement. Ensures workers can fulfill responsibilities according to OSHA regulations. Provided before assigning duties. No retraining requirement unless deficiency noted or change in hazard/procedure/program. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Ensure confined spaces are safe to enter. Requires understanding of hazards and hazard-control procedures. No retraining requirement unless deficiency noted or change in hazard/procedure. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Ensures quality of program and ensures affected employees are fulfilling responsibilities. No retraining requirement. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years or if program or training curriculum change. Entrant/Attendant* Entry Supervisor* Train the Trainer Duration: 4-8 hours depending on class size and experience. Prerequisites: Basic understanding of employer s lockout/tagout, fall protection, confined space, and similar safety procedures. Confined Space Basics Training Entrants and Attendants. Training Entry Supervisors. Regulations, Compliance Directive, Letters of Interpretation. Adult Learning Principals * Entrant/Attendant and Entry Supervisor classes are not taught on an open enrollment basis because these classes must reflect the specific requirements in the employer s confined space policy. This policy must be included in the curriculum.

4 FALL PROTECTION 4 Levels of Fall Protection Training Authorized User: Competent Person and Trainer: Equipment Inspector: Can inspect and use fall protection equipment and follow the requirements of the fall protection plan. Training usually provided by the competent person/trainer before exposure to fall hazards. No retraining requirement unless there is a change in hazard, equipment, or observed deficiency. Can identify fall hazards and take corrective action. Provides training to authorized users. Can assess adequacy of non-certified anchors per ANSI. No retraining requirement unless deficiency noted or change in hazard/procedure. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Can perform formal inspections of fall protection equipment which are required by manufacturers. Can inventory/track equipment and retire when needed. No specific OSHA retraining requirements. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Authorized User* Duration: 4-8 hours depending on class size, student experience, and type of fall protection equipment to be used. 5 EXCAVATION 5 Levels of Excavation Safety Training Awareness: Not required by OSHA but ensures that workers understand rules for working in excavations. Generally provided by the employer during orientation training. No retraining requirement. Competent Person: Every excavation requires a competent person on or near the job site to identify and correct hazards. This also includes testing soil and ensuring the correct installation of protective systems. No retraining requirement unless deficiency noted or change in hazard/procedure. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Trainer/Program Administrator: Develops and administers the location s excavation safety plan. Provides training to affected employees. No retraining requirement unless deficiency noted or change in hazard/procedure. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Awareness* Competent Person Trainer* Duration: 1-2 hours depending on class size and experience. Excavation Hazards Role of Competent Person Cave-ins and Signs of Distress Access and Egress Hazardous Atmospheres Water Intrusion Emergency Planning and Preparedness Duration: 16 hours depending on class experience and the nature of the student s excavation operations.. Prerequisites: None Accidents and Statistics Types of Cave-ins Soil Mechanics and Protective Systems Water and Atmosphere Hazards. Safety Planning Emergency Preparedness. Duration: 20 hours.* Prerequisites: Basic understanding of employer s excavation operations and protective systems in use. This course curriculum is the same as the Competent Person program but incudes an additional half-day to familiarize the students with the process used to deliver competent person and awareness training. * Excavation Awareness and Trainer classes are not taught on an open enrollment basis because these classes must reflect the specific requirements in the employer s excavation policy.

6 FORKLIFTS 6 Levels of Forklift Training Operator: Users must be trained and certified for each type of forklift they operate. In addition to completing the lecture and quiz portion of the class, they must demonstrate their driving and material handling skills. Retraining is required when there is an observed deficiency, near miss or accident, change in forklift type, change in the forklift policies, or other similar situation. Operators must perform a skills demonstration/evaluation every three years. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Trainer: The trainer must be an experienced forklift operator who is familiar with the operating, inspection and maintenance procedures of all the various types of forklifts at that location. Ensures proper administration of location s forklift policies and procedures. Provides initial and refresher training as needed. No formal retraining requirement unless deficiency noted or change in equipment, hazards, or policies. Best practice: Retrain every 3 years. Operator* Train the Trainer Consultative Services Duration: 4-8 hours depending on class size and experience. Introduction to Forklift Safety Equipment Types and Nomenclature Pre-shift Inspection Basic Operation Refueling Recordkeeping Summary: Safety Rules Practical Demonstration/ Evaluation Duration: 8 hours. Prerequisites: Experience in operating all types of forklifts in use at that location. Good understanding of employer s material handling policies and procedures. Adult Education Basics Regulatory Overview Administering the Classes Curriculum Review Conducting Practical Evaluations Best Practices Customized Training Program Development. Our baseline program can be adapted to reflect your specific needs. Incident Investigation and Analysis: Post-incident, we can identify root causes, and develop/ implement corrective actions. Hazard Identification and Control: By assessing the operating environment you can reduce accidents and improve safety. Load Stacking and Workflow Analysis: We can analyze how materials are moved at your location and identify areas of improvement. * Operator classes are not offered as open enrollments because these classes must reflect site-specific information.

7 SCAFFOLDS 7 Levels of Supported Scaffold Training Erector/Dismantler: Can assemble and disassemble specific types of scaffolds. Can use/deploy fall protection systems as identified by the competent person. Training must focus on exact types of scaffolds the students will work with. No formal retraining requirement. Best Practice: Retrain as needed. Authorized User: Can access scaffolds and deploy/use provided fall protection. Can recognize hazards posed by electrical conductors and weather. Can hoist and land materials safely. Understands the role of the competent person. Training must reflect specific characteristics of scaffold being used. No formal retraining requirement. Best Practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Competent Person: Every scaffold must have a competent person assigned to it. The competent person is able to identify hazards and take corrective action. Best practice: Retrain every 2-3 years. Erector/Dismantler Authorized User* Competent Person Duration: The amount of time needed depends on the types of scaffolds the students will work with and their anticipated responsibilities. Given the wide variety of scaffolds in use, D2000 does not offer this type of training. Consult the equipment manufacturer for training sources. Duration: 4 hours depending on class size, student experience, and type of scaffolds being used. Scaffold Hazards and Accidents Fall Protection Working Surfaces Material Handling Weather and Conductors Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (optional) Duration: 8 hours. Prerequisites: Basic understanding of employer s work operations that involve scaffolds and experience with those types of equipment. Scaffold Basics Types of Scaffolds Regulation Overview Supported Scaffold Requirements Scaffold Access and Use Inspections * Authorized User classes are not taught on an open enrollment basis because these classes must reflect the specific requirements of the equipment being used. 8 RESCUE TRAINING* 8 Levels of Rescue Training Team Member: Can size-up hazards, select, inspect, and deploy rope rescue systems as part of a written pre-incident plan. Can help develop and validate pre-plans along with filling every position on the incident command organizational chart. Team Leader: Can administer team operations including maintenance and development of all team documentation (training records, pre-plans, policies/procedures, and equipment manuals. Can oversee rescue drills.) Trainer: Can impart the skills and knowledge needed by new team members in a formal training environment. Can deliver both lecture and hands-on training for the team members and team leaders. Types of Rescue Training Confined Space: Teams enter permit-required confined spaces to retrieve patients and move them to safety. Includes both entry, and non-entry operations (retrieval). Team can deploy and operate high-angle rope systems. High Angle: This includes towers, power transmission structures, bridges, structural steel, wind turbines, cranes, and similar environments. Team can deploy and use rope systems to access and lower a patient to safety. Trench/Excavations: Team is trained to stabilize collapsed excavations to retrieve patients. Surface Mines: Teams are trained to perform high-angle rescues from confined spaces, conveyors, and dump trucks. Includes retrieving patients from the surface of dumps. Advanced Rescue: These courses include Rescue Train the Trainer, Elevated Anchor Systems, Rigging Physics, and Rope Access Rescue.
