21 ROBOT SAFETY RISK ASSESSMENT ANSI/RIA Industrial Robots & Robot systems OSHA references ANSI/RIA R15.06 and its Instruction PUB to provide guidelines for the safe operation and use of robot systems. 7.5 Safeguarding Methodology Selection: A safeguarding strategy shall be developed for identifying and controlling hazards, including process-specific hazards (7.4), and either: Installing the safeguards required in clause 8, and installing them in accordance with clause 10; or Conducting a comprehensive risk assessment per clause 9, and installing the safeguards determined to be appropriate in accordance with clause 10.

22 ROBOT SAFETY Entering a robot cell requires the proper use of a teach pendant by a programmer as outlined in the ANSI standard R15.06 or the robot must be locked out to a zero energy state.

26 ARC FLASH Administrative Requirements: The arc flash study will determine energy levels, boundary distances and assist the owner in complying with the NFPA guidelines that are enforced by MIOSHA inspectors. The results of the arc flash study will include: Short Circuit Current Values Protective Device Settings (Protective Device Coordination Study) Arc Flash Incident Energy Levels
