Nice that the winds kept low all week and no need to decide which side of the island to dive on in any particular day we could go where we wanted EVERY day! 2 As a result of the feedback we have received, then we are considering going again to Gozo in May next year this will allow those that didn t get a place on the Liveaboard, or those that wished they d come and didn t - to enjoy the diving in Gozo next year please see the trips section later in this newsletter for details! For those considering Advanced Open Water its not too late to join the fun. For those who missed the boat on the Rescue course, then due to pressing demand we ll be running another in mid October so time is running out to register your interest. This will be the last Rescue course this year, with us recommencing the next one in Spring 2012 Night Dives Over coming weeks we ll be starting a number of Wednesday Night Dives at Capernwray watch out for them on the Facebook pages and make sure your torch is charged up!! CLUB TRIP Hyperbaric Chamber (Wirral) Sunday 29 th Jan 2012 Those who have been to the chamber before will verify what a fun day this is! The day consists of a short presentation on the work carried out at the recompression unit. Diving safety, decompression illness and the basic management of a patient suffering from DCI. You will then be briefed on the safety aspects of the recompression chamber and introduced to the chamber environment where you can experience the effects of nitrogen narcosis as we dry dive to 50m. You must possess a self certification, and be able to provide evidence that on the day that you are medically fit to dive. We also require proof of a diver qualification. Bring your log-books to obtain a verification stamp and check the accuracy of your dive computer. Minimum age 16 years. Cost is 25 per person, plus shared transport costs. We are limited to 20 spaces, so reserve your place now at the shop (with a minimum 10 non refundable deposit)

5 Up and Coming Trips (Continued) Due to Unprecendented Demand: GOZO th to 24th May 2012 (ish) - Final Dates Being Worked Through For those who couldn t get a place on the Liveaboard, or who are looking for a cheaper option, or want to go on both! Such has been the demand for other holidays, we have arranged a further holiday next year, back to Gozo again This year s holiday was such a success that people want to go again! This will be a 1 week diving holiday. The Itinerary A mixture of Wrecks and Reefs! This itinerary follows a North and Brothers route and during the week, divers will experience the excitement of diving famous wrecks of the Red Sea, including the SS Thistlegorm, Carnatic, Ulysses, Ghiannis D and the Dunraven. This allows divers who love wrecks to dive just that, so anyone who has an active interest in wreck diving will love this itinerary. However, it is also interesting to bear in mind is that many of these Red Sea wrecks have been underwater for a very long time and have formed 'artificial reefs', teeming with life. This itinerary would therefore be enjoyed by all divers To reserve this final place - a 200 non refundable deposit is needed (Total holiday price is 1200)

Finally. Look after your kit and PLEASE look after ours! Everyone appreciates how expensive diving kit can be more so School kit, which has to be hard wearing, long lasting etc due to the extent of use it gets. Recently we are finding that school kit we loan out either to members or during courses is sometimes passed back to us in a very poor and dirty state. We would point out that when our kit is lent to you, it is clean, tidy, and in a useable state and we d expect it to be returned in the same state (surely that isn t unreasonable). PLEASE therefore when passing kit back to us ensure it is (as far as practical) neat, tidy, clean (appreciate that its wet that can t be helped!) and not just dumped back into the kit boxes.
