9 Activity: Bush Walk Recommended Adult:Child Ratio: 1:6 Location: Bush Walk track across the stream Supervisors: Parent Help/Teacher (s) Important Information for Supervisors of Bush Walk: The children and their safety is your responsibility for the entire duration of the session. Do not allow any child to leave the group without your Please ensure your cell phone is off & attention is on the children at all times. Do ensure you carry a cellphone with you in event of an emergency. We recommend that you have a portable First Aid Kit provided by your organisation. Please ensure you are acquainted with the Activity Instructions and the forms for your activity prior to beginning the session. It is expected that your organisation will have briefed supervisors as to any special needs/at risk children (e.g. a severe bee-sting allergy, epilepsy). If there is thunder or lightning at any point of your walk you must make your way back as quickly and safely as possible even if that means coming back the way you came. 11 Activity: Confidence Course Risk Level: Medium Recommended Adult:Child Ratio: 1:6 Location: Confidence Course Important Information for Supervisors of Confidence Course: The children and their safety is your responsibility for the entire duration of the session. If there is thunder the activity will have a 15 minute probationary period, if the thunder continues the activity will be called off until safe to resume. 12 Activity: Crate Stacking Risk Level: High Recommended Adult: Child Ratio: 1:4 Location: In the gymnasium Supervisors: Instructor & Parent Helpers/Teacher(s) The children and their safety is primarily the Instructors responsibility for the entire duration of the session, but your full participation in helping to supervise and run the session is needed! This activity should not be used if a participant is over 100kgs It is vital that you receive instruction on belaying technique and do not attempt to belay until both you and the Instructor are confident of your ability. The biggest risk in this activity is incorrect belaying. Follow all correct safety procedures for belaying and for supervising climbing! If you have any concerns about the activity, the equipment or your level of ability in regard to this activity please speak with One Big Adventure staff immediately. Ensure long hair is tied back & no loose tops to be worn. If the participants shorts do not come past the straps of the harness, they get told to change. in fall zone to be wearing a helmet. This activity is not to be used by those under age 6 or those over 120kg. If there is thunder the activity will have a 15 minute probationary period, if the thunder continues the activity will be called off until safe to resume. If there is Lightning the probationary period is 30 minutes from the last strike before the activity will resume.
