Warig Observe the relevat atioal regulatios (e.g.: NEC, CEC) ad observe the applicable stadards ad directives for special applicatios (e.g. with dagerous media such as oxyge, acetylee, flammable gases or liquids ad toxic gases or liquids ad with refrigeratio plats or compressors). If you do ot observe the appropriate regulatios, serious ijuries ad/or damage ca occur! Ope pressure coectios oly after the system is without pressure! Please make sure that the pressure trasmitter is oly used withi overload threshold limit at all times. Observe the ambiet ad workig coditios outlied i sectio 7 Techical data. Esure that the pressure trasmitter is oly operated i accordace with the provisios, i.e. as described i the followig istructios. Do ot iterfere with or chage the pressure trasmitter i ay other way tha described i these operatig istructios. Remove the pressure trasmitter from service ad mark it to prevet it from beig used agai accidetally, if it becomes damaged or usafe for operatio. Take precautios with regard to remaiig media i removed pressure trasmitter. Remaiig media i the pressure port may be hazardous or toxic! Have repairs performed by the maufacturer oly. Startig, operatio USA 6. Packagig Ispect the pressure trasmitter for possible damage durig trasportatio. Should there be ay obvious damage, iform the trasport compay ad WIKA without delay. Keep the packagig, as it offers optimal protectio durig trasportatio (e.g. chagig istallatio locatio, shipmet for repair). Keep the protectio cap of the pressure coectio thread ad the diaphragm for later storage or trasport. I order to protect the diaphragm, the pressure coectio of the istrumet S-11 is provided with a special protectio cap. 7. Startig, operatio Has everythig bee supplied? Check the scope of supply: Completely assembled pressure trasmitters; with flush versio S-11 icludig pre-assembled sealigs ad protectio cap. Required tools: wrech (flats 27), screw driver Diaphragm test for your safety: It is ecessary that before startig the pressure trasmitter you test the diaphragm, as this is a safety-relevat compoet.! Warig Remove this protectio cap oly just before istallig the pressure trasmitter i order to prevet ay damage to the diaphragm or the thread. Istall carefully to avoid damagig the flush diaphragm ad threads. Mout the protectio cap whe removig ad trasportig the istrumet. Pay attetio to ay liquid leakig out, for this poits to a diaphragm damage. Check the diaphragm visually for ay damage. Use the pressure trasmitter oly if the diaphragm is udamaged. Use the pressure trasmitter oly if it is i a faultless coditio as far as the safety-relevat features are cocered. WIKA Operatig istructios S-10, S-11 5

4 7. Startig operatio USA Istallatio Remove the protectio cap oly just before istallatio ad absolutely avoid ay damage to the diaphragm durig istallatio as well. Esure that the cable diameter you select fits to the cable glad of the coector. Esure that the cable glad of the mouted coector is positioed correctly ad that the sealigs are available ad udamaged. Tighte the threaded coectio ad check the correct positio of the sealigs i order to esure the igress protectio. Whe moutig the istrumet, esure that the sealig faces of the istrumet ad the measurig poit are clea ad udamaged. Screw i or uscrew the istrumet oly via the flats usig a suitable tool ad ad the prescribed torque. Do ot use the case as workig surface for screwig i or uscrewig the istrumet. Whe screwig the trasmitter i, esure that the threads are ot jammed. Coect the istrumet to earth via the pressure coectio. 7. Startig, operatio USA Wirig Igress protectio per IEC (The igress protectio classes specified oly apply while the pressure trasmitter is coected with female coectors that provide the corres-podig igress protectio). Please make sure that the eds of cables with flyig leads do ot allow ay igress of moisture. Pull the agle housig (5), with the termial block (6) iside, away from the istrumet. 4. Usig the head of a small screwdriver i the moutig hole (D), lever the termial block (6) out of the agle housig (5). Esure that the coductor outer diameter you select is matched to the agle housig s cable glad. Slide the cable through the cable glad ut (2), washer (3), glad seal (4) ad agle housig (5). 6. Coect the flyig leads to the screw termials o the termial block (6) i accordace with the pi-assigmet drawig. 7. Press the termial block (6) back ito the agle housig (5). 8. Tighte the cable glad (2) aroud the cable. Make sure that the sealig is t damaged ad that the cable glad ad seals are assembled correctly i order to esure igress protectio. 9. Place the flat, square gasket over the coectio pis o the top of the istru met housig. 10. Slide the termial block (6) oto the coectio pis. 11. 7 7. Startig, operatio USA Adjustmet of zero poit / spa (oly for pressure trasmitter with clampig ut) We do ot recommed to adjust the spa potetiometer. It is used for adjustmet ex factory ad should ot be adjusted by you uless you have adequate calibratio equipmet at your disposal (at least three times more accurate tha the istrumet beig tested). Make sure wires are ot cut or piched durig disassembly ad reassembly of the coector. Remove the female coector. Ope the pressure trasmitter by detachig the clampig ut (see ig. A ). Carefully remove the male coector from the case. Adjust the zero poit (Z) (see ig. B ) by geeratig the lower limit of the pressure rage. Adjust the spa (S) by geeratig the higher limit of the pressure rage. Check the zero poit. If the zero poit is icorrect, repeat procedure as required. Reassemble the istrumet carefully. Make sure all sealigs ad o-rigs are ot damaged ad correctly istalled to assure the rated moisture igress protectio.
