1 Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) / Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) Part 1: Project and Task Identification Process Initiators of SWMSs are responsible for consulting the Project Supervisor, Quality WHS Manager or other persons directly in charge of the work and other personnel involved in the execution of the task (as appropriate) for input into the SWMS. Other persons may be consulted for technical advice or review of the SWMS to see that proposed measures are effective and workable. The task is to be broken up into steps. For each step, the safety hazards are identified. For each of the hazards identified, corrective action, precautions, equipment are identified to reduce the hazard. All involved in the task must review and sign this SWMS form. Only use buffing pads designed for use with the make and model of the machine 2 Operator 3.3 Start the machine Electrocution 25 Ensure all electrical tools and cables are functional, tested, tagged and current Use RCD protection Personal Injury 20 Ensure that you have received training in safe use of the equipment 1 Driver 3.4 Using the floor buffer Environmental -Noise/ disturbing the peace 13 Ensure regular maintenance is carried out Replace noisy machines 1 Manager Vibration 13 Vibration handle to be used 2 Operator Do not exceed the maximum hours of daily exposure as per the manufacturers recommendations Slippping on floor 13 Be mindful of wet floors 3 All Wear non-slip footwear 3 Operator Regularly remove slurry 2 Operator Environmental -Spills to water -stormwater 4 Collect waste water and slurry using a wet vacuum Containment socks to be in place at drain points Storm water entries to be sealed Personal Injury 20 Ensure that you have received training in safe use of the equipment Crushing 23 The machine must only be used and moved on level surfaces. There is a risk of crushing if the machine starts to roll.
