Casualty no more than 8 metres away. The lifeguard team can be used to assist with the recovery. Following the rescue the candidate will explain the action taken. Issue candidate warning - You should be aware that there may be a risk of damage to your hearing by diving to depths greater than 1.5 metres. 5 Section 2 Element 2 Rescue of a Casualty with a Suspected Spinal Injury (conscious and cooperative) SCIM Deep water rescue. The casualty will be deemed to have suffered a sudden collapse and the team has been alerted to the development of an emergency / EAP implemented.
