Ensure all employees and contractors are trained and competent for the tasks to be completed. Supervisor will assess worksite in order to identify hazards. Supervisor will identify any unusual or specific hazards associated with the work, such as other workers or people in the immediate vicinity Site occupancy restrictions and conditions, including access and egress, work schedules and emergency management arrangements, including emergency communication and evacuation plans will be identified. If in doubt as to safety for the task, a second opinion may be required with an experienced operator, safety representative or WHS personnel. 2

Personnel are not to approach the mobile plant while it is operating. Persons other than the operator do NOT ride on the mobile plant. Mobile plant is operated at appropriate speeds for the terrain. Blades and attachments are lowered before the operator leaves the mobile plant. Operator is alert to other plant and equipment movements on the site. Speed is reduced before brakes are applied. All persons to wear high visibility clothing when on site. Water truck to damp down work area when excess dust generated Hearing protection to be worn where necessary (being careful not to over-protect). Operator must be aware that there is restricted visibility to the rear of mobile plant due to height of cabin, engine size, air cleaner and exhaust location. If landing a load above 2mt the dogman/rigger must wear fall arrest harness and be hooked to proper anchor point. Check Exclusion Zone Chart for allowed operating distance near live parts. Slinging loads only to be completed by either a competent ticketed Dogman or Rigger If landing a load above 2 m the dogman/rigger, shall comply with WMS Working Above 2 m Use proper lifting points when slinging load. Check for any damage and testing/tagging compliance on lifting/rigging equipment. If no current tag on lifting gear, do not use. Make sure hoist rope is in vertical position before lifting. Proper communications to be in place before lift commences two-way radio, hand signals or whistles. Consider hoist and slewing speed and centre of gravity of load before lift commences. Authorised Officer or Safety Observer to be in place if load goes within 3 meters of overhead powerlines. SWMS Work near Exposed Energised Electrical Installation shall be used in conjunction with this SWMS Adequate communication between all involved with the dogman/rigger being the only person in charge of the lift. At all times overhead powerlines are to considered while lift is in progress Make sure the landing area is prepared to receive the load. Tag lines should be attached to load to help land load safely. Random inspections will be conducted by WHS personnel, WHSR, Site Supervisor or, the Project Officer. Ongoing risk assessments will be conducted during the project and discussed at toolbox meetings. The Site Supervisor will hold regular Toolbox meetings to discuss changes to the workplace or identification of new hazards. 5
