Please read this instructions manual carefully before using the appliance and keep it at hand to refer to it at any time. -JOCCA declines any responsibility for the improper use of the product, or any other use that is not described in this manual. -Before using the product for the first time, unpack the product and check that it is in perfect conditions. If not, do not use the appliance and contact JOCCA, as the guarantee covers any damage from origin or manufacturing defects. -This product is only indicated for domestic use. Do not use the appliance outdoors. Never leave the appliance exposed to climatic agents such as rain, snow, sun, etc... which can damage its operation. -This appliance is intended to be used only by adults. Do not allow people not accustomed to this kind of appliances, handicapped people or children to use this item. -Do not immerse the appliance or any part of it in water or any other liquid. -Avoid knocks or letting the unit fall down. -Remove the battery from the compartment if you are not going to use the scales for a long period of time. -Change the batteries when they run out. Do not mix new batteries with used ones. Only use batteries of the same model or equivalent to those recommended. -The batteries must be fitted in agreement with the correct polarity indicated. -Never place the battery compartment close to a fire or heat source. -Do not throw the batteries into the fire or place the control unit in direct sunlight. -The results of a reading can only be interpreted by a doctor. If you suffer from arrhythmias, the reading results must only be analysed by your doctor. If you have any doubts with respect

2 to your blood pressure and the reading which are not included in these user instructions, please see your doctor. -The cuff should not be twisted under any circumstances whatsoever. -Do not inflate the cuff with air when it is not in position on the wrist. -Do not attempt to open the unit, or modify the screen components nor the cuff. -The unit is only suitable for measuring the blood pressure of adults. -The unit should not be used on an injured wrist. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE -Open the battery compartment cover on the under side of the unit and insert two 1.5 V AAA batteries in the battery compartment in keeping with the polarity indicated. -All the icons will appear momentarily on the screen, and then the indication of the month 1, date 1, time 12, and minute 0. -To adjust the date and time, press the M button and the month will begin to flash on the screen. Select the month by pressing S. Once the required month has been selected, press M to set the day, and press the S button once again. Press M to set the hour (12h) and then the S button. Press M once again to set the minutes, and then finally the S button once again to finish. -To go to the normal time press the M button once again and the screen will now show the month, day hour and minute. -To measure your blood pressure you should follow the following steps very carefully: 1 Sit down in a chair in an upright position, and during the measuring of the blood pressure keep still and do not talk. 2 Place the cuff around your wrist and at the same height as your heart, exactly as indicated in the drawing. Do not pull hard on the cuff nor tighten down the cuff on the wrist too much. A watch or clothing that might restrict your blood flow during measurement should be avoided. 3 The unit should be at the same height as your heart to obtain the best reading (please see fig1). 4 Press the START/STOP button. 5 All the icons will show 888 for three seconds and then the current time will be shown on the screen. 6 The blood pressure measuring icon will appear on the screen and the air pressure will automatically increase up to 195 mmhg. In the case of a tendency towards an over high blood pressure, the air pressure will continue increasing to the level necessary to make a measurement. 7 After having increased, the air pressure will then begin to lower gradually. 8 On detecting the heart rate, the pulse icon will start to flash on the screen. 9 After having taken the blood pressure, the systolic and diastolic results and the pulse rate will appear on the screen for one minute and will then automatically disappear. -In the event of interrupting the inflation of the cuff, the process should be stopped by pressing the START/STOP button. -The systolic and diastolic results and the pulse rate readings and also the measurement date will be automatically stored after each reading. -Up to 48 readings can be stored. Thereafter the oldest readings will be automatically deleted from the memory. -To see the memory details, the Recall button should be pressed, and the systolic and diastolic results and the heart rate, and also the time and date of the register of the reading data will appear. The data will disappear after one minute (60 seconds), and to see the following measurements the RECALL button should be pressed again. -To delete all the data that has been memorised, all you have to do is to remove the two batteries and put them back in place immediately. To check that the data has been deleted press the RECALL button. In this case no data will appear on the screen. -Substitute the batteries if the following icon appears on the screen if this is not done no blood pressure measurement can be carried out. People suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatopathia, artery diseases or blood circulation problems should take special care when taking their blood pressure. SCREEN ICONS CLEANING AND STORAGE -Do not use abrasive detergents or products that may damage the appliance. -NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. -Use a damp cloth or sponge to clean the unit. -Please put the unit away in its case after use. -Do not expose to extremely low temperatures (under 20 C) or high temperatures (-70 C). -We recommend that technical measurement servicing of this unit is carried out every 2 years. 5 To avoid inaccurate results caused by electromagnetic interference between electrical and electronic equipments, do not use the device near a mobile phone or microwave oven. 1. Please rest for at least 5~10 minutes before taking the measurement. 2. To allow your blood vessels to return to the condition prior to taking the measurement, please wait at least 3~5 minutes between measurements. You may need to adjust the wait time according to your personal physiological situation. 3. If you have one of the circulatory problems as arteriosclerosis, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, severe hypertension, peripheral circulation..., please consult your doctor or healthcare professional before using the devices.
