11 BY ADDING THE PILOT WE HAVE CONTROL

12 KEY FEATURES TO INCLUDE USING YOUR CONTROL VALVES 1. Require NSF approved coatings on the interior & exterior 2. Stainless bolting is always a great option for maintenance 3. Gauges in your system these are options that can be included in the valve pilot system. You need to be able to read system pressures 3. Position indicators these valves have this option and they are a great feature 4. A new law goes into effect January 5 th 2014 Act amends the Safe Drinking Act by reducing the allowable lead from 8.0% to.25% this change can effect the seat and pilot trims on most control valves more stainless and less bronze

19 TYPES OF CONTROL VALVES B O O S T E R P U M P C O N T R O L V A L V E These valves are normally closed on pump start-up They are slowing opened & closed during operation and have a built-in sliding valve which closes on power failure On shut-down, the solenoid is deenergized and the valve closes and the closing limit switch turns the pump off

22 Many surge relief valves in systems are provided with angle pattern bodies. TYPES OF CONTROL VALVES They are piloted to control or maintain a specific inlet pressure They are designed to relieve any over pressure

23 Metering control valves have two main solenoids one allows water off the bonnet The other to put water on the bonnet This valve will have a position transmitter connected to a flow meter of pressure transmitter this valve controls flow & pressure TYPES OF CONTROL VALVES

25 Metering Valves TYPES OF CONTROL VALVES Metering valves can have other functions as well This metering valve has an altitude control pilot This added pilot will override the metering function and close the main valve when a level is achieved

27 Altitude Control Valves These valves are set up for one way or two way flow TYPES OF CONTROL VALVES They fill the reservoir or storage tank and can fully close. The two way valve will have a delay pilot which allows the valve to open when the inlet line pressure falls the valve opens and allows the reservoir to drain back into the system

28 RATE OF FLOW This valve has many type of control pilots available TYPES OF CONTROL VALVES ROF comes with a downstream orifice plate sized for the application requirements Standard hydraulic pilot control as well as SCADA control

29 METERING CONTROL VALVES Flow Meters Are Now Available From Some Manufacturers Larger Body Taps Are Required The Valve Manufacturer Must Provide Meters With The Proper Calibration For the Model And Size Of Valve
