1 OCEANIC EXPLORER APO REEF & CORON 8 DAYS/7 NIGHTS DAYS ITINERARY DIVES DAY 1 Arrival in Anilao Port Board check-in Dinner Departure for Apo Reef _ DAY 2 Lighthouse Apo Menor (sunset dive) DAY 3 West of Apo Menor Lighthouse Apo Menor (sunset dive) DAY 4 4 DAY Akitsushima Wreck. This wreck can be quite dark and dingy. There isn't a great deal of life on the outside of the wreck so dive plans generally revolve around swim throughs down long, empty corridors. Look out for a bomb at the end of one of the corridors; other higlights are the collapsed crane used to recover the seaplane and the gun near the seabed. Olympia Maru. The size of the ship means that you can get a good coverage of most of the wreck in one dive. One possible plan is to start off by heading through the prop shaft and into the engine room. There are huge boilers here and lots of ways in and out with plenty of light streaming through. Look out for crocodilefish hiding away as you pass through and the kaolin bricks (clearly

2 marked - see photo!). The bridge is a very pretty area and there are lots of glassfish inhabiting it. Kogyo Maru. It is likely that this freighter was a war prize captured by the Japanese. She is 129 meters long and lies on her side in 36 meters of water so appropriate care should be taken in view of the consequential problems. The forward holds contain materials for the construction of an airstrip - cement in bags and what appears to be hexagonal metal reinforcing mat though it feels like stone and cracking off a small piece revealed a hollow inner consistent with the original metal having oxidised away to leave just a rust shell. There is also a bulldozer in one hold. Tangat Gunboat Wreck has lots of large open holds that make easy penetration with pipework and valves to be spotted. The outside of the wreck is covered in coral and small fish and look out for lionfish and crocodilefish. There is also rumoured to be a seahorse on the stern, but we didn't see it. As we ascended up the line a shoal of about 30 batfish hung next to us. While decoing or doing safety stops the line provides plenty of interest as it is covered in tiny fish and shrimps. Sangat Housereef (sunset dive) DAY 6 Akitsushima Wreck Irako Maru. The Irako is a bit deeper than most of the other wrecks around Coron so unless you have twins, time on the wreck will be limited. The 'goal post' mast that the shot is attached to reaches up to about 12m so you can easily spend some time around here on the way back up. There's a lot of straight forward swim throughs around the deck area and the boow area is nice to visit. You'll notice all the pipes throughout the holds which were part of the refrigeration mechanism. There's not a massive amount of life on the main part of the wreck, but the masts are home to some small fish life. Kogyo Maru Tangat Gunboat Wreck Sangat Housereef (sunset dive) DAY 7 Gunthers Cathedral. It has a spiritual dive that brings you to a scenery which could remind you a Steven Spielberg's film. A hole in the bottom of the sea, a small dark channel, lobsters and cowries shells, and then out of the darkness, a slight daylight penetration. You follow the light and it will bring you in a big cathedral behind the sea. Just unreal! You can even surface inside the cave. Back in the sea, you dive along beautiful corals. 4 FAQ Visa and Passports Passport holders of most western countries do not need to obtain a visa for stays up to 21 days. It is possible to extend your stay beyond 21 days by visiting an Immigration Office whilst in the country and obtaining a visa extension for a nominal sum. Visa and Passport regulations for different countries are constantly in a state of flux. We always advise our guests to check for updates and changes at your local Filipino Embassy. Please make sure that your passport has validity of at least 6 months beyond the period you intend to stay in the Philippines. You will be required to show a confirmed onward ticket out of the Philippines (within the maximum number of days you are allowed to stay in the country) upon arrival. For updated information please visit the following: Time Zone The local time is 8 hours ahead of UTC (GMT). Health Health standards vary throughout the country depending on location. In some cases they do not meet Western Standards but in some cases they exceed them. Manila and Cebu have international class hospitals whilst the hospitals in other parts of the country will ensure that you receive more than adequate care. All major towns have hospitals and doctors available. However, it is advisable to obtain Travel Insurance in addition to Health Insurance before you travel. We advise all guests to ensure that vaccinations are up to date. We recommend that travelers follow normal precautions with food in order to prevent stomach upsets, and be sure to drink either boiled or bottled water only. Please consult your doctor or nearest health authorities for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure. Language and Religion There are over 170 different languages and dialects spoken in the Philippines, however, Tagalog (aka Filipino) is the most widely spoken language in the archipelago. Nearly all Filipinos who work in the tourism industry speak good English, and English road and street signs are found nationwide. Almost 90% of the population is Christian. The largest religious minority is Muslim, and they make up about % of the population. Climate and Weather The Philippines is a tropical country and the weather is fairly even all year round. The year is roughly divided into two seasons; rainy and dry. The rainy season generally begins in early June and can extend through to November. In general the months with greatest rainfall tend to be July and August. The rainy season often brings days of uninterrupted sunshine punctuated by occasional thunderstorms and rain. The central Visayas including Cebu, Bohol and Negros are sheltered from the monsoon rains and thus have less pronounced seasons. These areas are liable to have rain at any time of the year, but it s usually not too serious. The dry season runs from November through to May but there is always the chance of light rainfall during this period. The warmest months are usually March through to May and the highest humidity is in June, July and August. Year round coastal and inland temperatures range from 27 C 28 C (81 F- 82 F) up to 33 C 34 C ( 91 F- 93 F) with an average of approximately 31 C ( 87 F). Evenings are marginally cooler. Clothing and Footwear Dress code on board our yacht is very casual and most guests feel comfortable in little more than swim wear, shorts and t-shirts. However, we ask our guests to put a t-shirt over the swimwear while seated at the dining area. A sweater is advised for cooler nights, particularly after multiple dives. Guests prefer bare feet on board the yacht; however island visits will require sturdy sandals or cross-trainers. Electricity On board the yacht we have both 220V and 110V with 2 round pin sockets. (European style) Please make sure you bring universal adapter with you if necessary. Electrical current on land is 220 Volts with the USstyle flat 2-pin sockets. Smoking Smoking onboard is permitted in designated (outdoor) areas.

5 Money Matters The local currency is the Philippine Peso (Php). The vast majority of all hotels, resorts, shops and restaurants will accept a wide range of credit and debit cards. Please note that in some cases away from the major cities you may be asked to pay a service charge for credit card handling. This can range from %. ATMs are easily found throughout the Philippines in airports and in any major centre of population (Manila, Cebu, Dumaguete, Puerto Princesa, Boracay etc). Normal banking hours are 09.00am 1.00pm. Traveller s cheques are not very popular as they are not very easy to exchange so most guests prefer to carry cash and / or use credit cards. There are also money changers at airports and in the cities. Payments Onboard Any extra costs you may have onboard must be paid in cash. We do not accept credit card payments onboard, so it is advisable that guests bring extra cash of between on top of marine park and port fees, per person. Worldwide Dive and Sail accepts GBP, EUR, USD and the local currency of the dive destination. Trips often finish in remote locations, it is best to bring extra cash in case there is no ATM or other method of withdrawing cash. Marine Park and Port Fees The marine park and port fees for this trip are 6 per person and must be paid onboard in cash. Tipping Tipping is a matter of personal choice. You may wish to leave a tip if you feel the crew has made your holiday extra special. Tips are divided equally amongst all the crew including dive guides. Airport Terminal Fee Passengers travelling within the Philippines are required to pay airport terminal fees. These can be from 20PHP 200PHP for domestic flights and 70PHP for outbound international flights. Please ensure that you retain enough cash to pay these fees upon departure.
