Monel (Alloy ) cylinders are standard as non-dot. Pressure Ratings DOT cylinders come as standard with psi g, 1800 psig or 0 psig ratings. DOT and Non-DOT cylinders can be furnished with higher pressure ratings. The cylinders are hot spun from seamless tubing for integrity and corrosion resistance. The process provides a smooth internal flow transition through the neck to minimize pockets which can trap previous samples. DOT-E 1800/TC-EM 124 cylinders are hydrostatically proof tested at 0 psig (210 bar). One cylinder of each lot is burst tested. DOT-A 0/TC-ASM 44 cylinders are hydrostatically proof tested at 8 psig (586 bar). Cleaning and packaging in accordance with FITOK FC-02 special cleaning procedures, to ensure compliance with product cleanliness requirements stated in ASTM G9 Level C are available as an option for cylinder valves. 4 5 Sample Cylinders and Accessories Sample Cylinders and Accessories 6 Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (TPED) Ordering Information The Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive ( TPED) provides requirements relating to the design, manufacture, and testing of transportable pressure vessels and accessories, including sample cylinders and rupture discs. The intent of the directive is to provide a uniform level of product safety throughout the European Union countries. Cylinder Surface PTFE Lined Cylinders The internal cylinder surfaces are available with special PTFE lining providing excellent lubricity and very low permeability. Rupture Disc Tees These compact assemblies are designed for use with various FITOK valves. Tees are fabricated of 16 stainless steel. Each tee consists of a rupture disc kit. Electropolishing Electropolishing can provide a clean internal surface with a high degree of passivation. Sample Cylinder Accessories Overpressure Protection C D Compressed gas cylinders must be equipped with pressure relief devices in accordance with US DOT regulations and CGA Pamphlet S-1.1. The CGA Pamphlet lists devices that can be used with specific gases. It also contains information on other types of pressure relief devices. Be sure to use the correct pressure relief device for the gas being used. B A Proper filling of the cylinder according to DOT specifications, or other local regulations, is critical in preventing overpressurization. Ordering Information and Dimensions Rupture Disc Kits Rupture disc models are supplied with a pre-bulged rupture disc which provides excellent resistance to a broad range of corrosive materials, protecting sample cylinder from over-pressurization by venting the cylinder contents to atmosphere. The rupture disc is welded to a body that is threaded into a valve body or a rupture disc tee and sealed by an elastomer o-ring. Carrying Handle This carrying handle provides convenience to carry sample cylinders. The handle is made from 04 stainless steel and is available for use on 00 ml and larger cylinders, as well as 00 ml cylinders rated to 0 psig (44 bar). End Caps In order to enable users to transport pressurized samples in safety, end caps are offered by FITOK protecting valves against damage. Each cap threads onto a neck ring that has been peened to the cylinder neck. End caps are made from carbon steel and are available for use on 22 and 785 ml (1gal) cylinders, which can only be used with FITOK angle-pattern valves. To order, specify the cylinder part number followed by the part number of the accessory. End caps and neck rings on both ends of the cylinder are normal style. Carrying Handle

6 9 Sample Cylinders and Accessories Sample Cylinders and Accessories 10 Outage Tubes Features Standard materials are 16 stainless steel or alloy tubing Standard size or 1/2 Construction Outage tube is welded to the male inlet end of an adapter. This adapter is threaded into the port of a sample cylinder. Usage Outage tube is used to keep a certain space for gaseous phase, the space is determined by the length of outage tube. % outage = (vapor space/total volume) 100 To obtain an exact outage, each outage tube and cylinder assembly should be calibrated by a suitable method. (94) 5.1 (145) Testing Each cylinder is tested at 2000 psig (18 bar) with nitrogen. Cautions: 1. Strong impingement should be rooted out for sample cylinder. 2. Sample cylinder should be kept off insolation and baking.. Sample cylinders are strictly prohibited roasting by fire when valve is freezed. 4. When the cylinder is using, the working pressure can not exceed its max working pressure.
