Ideal for aseptic applications, this valve series uses a stainless steel stem flush adapter to provide a liquid or steam barrier around the valve stem. W Single Seat W80 adapter Valves are modular in design therefore maintaining W dimensions. W90 adapter The W90 Series Valve is a W Series Valve with a diaphragm stem seal replacing the standard W adapter piece. It is ideal for the extended shelf life applications. The diaphragm stem seal prevents contamination from air or other external contaminants by keeping the stem from exiting the product. 12 Waukesha herry-urrell W Series ontrol Valves Valve Sizing Throttling valves control flow rate based on the differential pressure expected across the valve, therefore, flow rate and differential pressure are required to size a throttling valve. Illustration note: properly sized throttling valve may not necessarily be the same physical size as the line in which it will be installed. P = 4 psi P=6psi To calculate v for the process: v = GPM P/SG v = Valve flow oefficient GPM= Flow in Gallons Per Minute SG= Specific Gravity P= Differential Pressure Outlet pressure 4 psi v = 0 6/.0 v=5 Product = Water v= 5 GPM= 0 SG =.0 P= 6 (valve inlet pressure minus outlet pressure) To choose a Throttling Valve for a process v of 5, find this value in the v Factor Table below. Inlet pressure psi 0 psi (Friction loss in line to valve) This will determine the valve size and valve v factor to be used for this application.
