2 Airway Management Dummy Airway Management training is usually carried out in a well lit, carpeted classroom with plenty of space - how would your staff manage in a confined space or other difficult circumstances such as a road traffic collision (RTC) or if the manikin was trapped by the legs! Would they even be expecting to carry out Airway Management outside of a classroom? If you introduced this manikin into a routine training exercise what effect would it have - it would certainly make them stop and think and would definitely test their preparedness! The manikin has anatomical landmarks including the sternum, rib cage, and substernal notch. The trainer also contains teeth, uvula, vocal cords, glottis, epiglottis, larynx, arytenoid cartilage, trachea, oesophagus, inflatable lungs and stomach. It allows for placement of a nasogastric tube and accepts Combitube, E.O.A., E.G.T.A., P.T.L. and i-gel airways. Realistic knee joints promoting correct manual handling techniques including preservation of the C-spine. Special D-ring feature enables easy suspension without damaging the manikin. Floats vertically or horizontally with head and shoulders above the water. The carcass of this dummy allows water to ingress which approximately doubles the dry weight of the dummy, ie: 40kg dry weight dummy becomes about 80kg in the water. The water rapidly drains from the dummy when recovered from the water. The tough overall has additional pockets in the shin area for buoyancy foam (supplied) to be added to make it float horizontally. Hi-vis orange or hard-to-see black models. The carcass allows water to ingress as in the water rescue dummy and it's 60kg dry weight increases to about 100kg when in the water. Not suitable for rough sea scenarios without a PFD. This dummy will sink in water, but, as it has buoyancy foam inside, it does not sink like a stone but simulates the weight characteristics of a drowned body. The weight of the adult body is approximately 10kg when underwater. The toddler size will rest more upright with feet touching the bottom.
