6 2. Overview 2.1. Intended Application Blendox delivers a mixed gas of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide to patient by autonomous respiration to inhibit pain. Inhalation of mixed nitrous oxide and oxygen is a simple, safe, efficient way to provide pain relief during minimal trauma treatment, and childbirth Principle of Operation Blendox blends medical oxygen and medical nitrous oxide by connecting to a gas source from medical grade outlets on the wall to the corresponding inlets. The gases flow through the stainless steel passages independently into the oxygen and Nitrous Oxide modules; then blended through the blending module. The blending module is pre-adjusted and locked to deliver 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide, with a mixing accuracy of ±5%, or in a range of 47.5% to 52.5%. The mixed gas is then delivered to the patient through a high pressure hose to a demand valve (DVR) controlled by patient demand breaths Components List Blendox consists of gas inlets with on/off switches, nitrous oxide / oxygen blending module, flow ratio control module, high pressure hose, demand valve (DVR), mask, and wall mount brackets. 5
