DATES: September 7 th -9th Auto Extrication (Operations) TIME: September 7 th September 8 th -9 th LOCATIONS: Classroom & Hands On Training: September 7 th -9th 1559 Main St. North, Kimberly, ID This class is designed for the firefighter that needs to obtain the basic knowledge of auto extrication. The course will involve hands-on practical training involving various scenarios and address scene safety, evaluation and management for incidents involving all types of vehicles. Operations will involve lying down, crouching, or crawling in vehicles. Includes challenging scenarios where all members of the team must be working to keep from pushing out of the golden hour. Participants must furnish approved helmet, fire boots or leather safety boots, eye protection, gloves, coveralls or turnout gear for class. AAS Fire Science Degree: This class will meet one of the requirements for those working on their AAS in Fire Science. Maximum class: 25 students THE FOLLOWING GEAR IS REQUIRED: o Turnouts or extrication gear o Eye Protection o Coat o Boots o Gloves
3 o Helmet INSTRUCTORS: o Tyler Bryner- Firefighter Meridian Fire Department/Elite Extrication & Equipment 1403 (Live Fire) Train the Trainer Dates: September 10 th -11th Time: September 10 th -11th Location: RCFD Station 1 then at off-site location NFPA 1403, Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions involves specific requirements for training, evolution planning, development, implementation, monitoring and records management of live fire training evolutions in acquired structures, training center burn buildings and a variety of types of exterior fire evolutions. This course will provide students with an introduction to the necessary knowledge and tools to properly prepare and conduct live fire training evolutions. This class is designed for department instructors, investigators or training managers. Maximum class: 12 students Required Gear:
4 o Structure coat o Structure pants o Helmet o Structure gloves o Leather gloves o Pen and paper o SCBA with spare bottles Instructors: o Stacey Thomas: Captain, Rock Creek Fire District o TBD Fire Ground Operations Presented by Shane Smith Dates: September 7 th -9 th Time: September 7 th , September 8 th -9 th Location: Kimberly, TBD This class incorporates all aspects of firefighting duties while on a working structure fire. Students will be exposed to ladder placement, searches, victim/firefighter removal and hose advancements just to mention a few. Today s firefighters are tasked with multiple assignments while on scene and this class will prepare those that attend. This
5 class builds on the Initial Engine Company Operations class from last year. Be eager to learn and work hard. Maximum Class: 15 students Required Gear/Equipment: o Full Structure PPE o SCBA with two spare bottles Instructors: o Shane Smith- Rescue City/ Captain, South King Fire and Rescue S-215 Wildland Urban Interface Dates: September 8-9th Time: Location: Kimberly, TBD This course is designed to assist any emergency responders who will be planning for and making operational decisions during an interface incident. This course is for personnel desiring to be qualified as the following: Incident Commander Type 4 (ICT4),
6 Task Force Leader (TFLD), Strike Team Leader Crew (STCR), Strike Team Leader Heavy Equipment (STEQ), Strike Team Leader Engine (STEN). This class counts towards an AAS in Fire Service. 7 This course provides an introduction to operational leadership, mobilization,arrival at an incident, risk management, entrapment avoidance, safety and tactics, off line duties, demobilization, and post-incident responsibilities as they relate to the single resource crew boss. This class is also a requirement for Engine Boss. Maximum Class: 25 students Required items: o Pen/Paper Instructors: o Taylor Hunsaker- Rock Creek Fire District o Justin Kidd Apparatus Pump Operations Dates: September 7-9 th Time: Friday Saturday and Sunday Location: TBD
8 This class is intended for current driver/operators that want to advance their skills. Students will be challenged with multiple pumping scenarios and to know the capabilities of their trucks. Students should have the basic knowledge of how pumps work, fireground calculations along with drafting and pump capacity. Maximum Class: 25 students Required items: o Pen/Paper o Turnout Gear o Leather gloves Instructors: o Fred McDonald- Twin Falls Fire Department o Joe Miller- Twin Falls Fire Department Rope Rescue Technician Dates: September 6-9 th Time:
9 Location: TBD This class is intended to expand on the topic of rope rescue operations and give a more in depth development of rope rescue skills. Students should already have obtained an operations level rope rescue course certification.
