The Elements Kihavah adventures will take you in, on, under, above and alongside the turquoise Indian Ocean, also known as Ratnakara in the ancient Sanskrit literature, meaning the creator of gems. Whether you choose to scuba dive or snorkel you can rest assured that our experienced instructors, first class rental equipment, comfortable dhonis (boats) and many dive sites cater for beginner and experienced divers alike. The coral reefs are home to a variety of marine ecosystems that vary from planktonic organisms to crustaceans, sponges and sharks. Here dolphins, turtles and even mantas can be seen thriving in their natural habitat. For a more relaxed sightseeing excursion in the shallow waters or across the lagoon try a sturdy kayak ride. To this end we have established a Bio Centre staffed by a resident Marine Biologist. Our Bio Centre Adventures afford you a unique opportunity to discover and explore marine life with the Marine Biologist and to partake in our Coral Adoption programme. Please note that all excursion rates are per person, unless otherwise stated and usually require a minimum of four participants. You may also choose a private adventure at an additional fee. Even with our extensive local experience and specialist knowledge nature dictates and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed. DOLPHIN DISCOVERY (1.5 hours) 75 Learn about dolphins at a nearby location that frequently promises good sightings and close encounters. TURTLE QUEST (2 hours) 80 Travel by dhoni or speedboat to snorkel with these amazing creatures. MANTA SNORKELLING (2.5 hours) 150 A seasonal excursion offered between approximately May and October. Take a dhoni or speedboat ride to snorkel with these magnificent animals for an hour or so. MARINE PHOTO ADVENTURE (2 hours) 110 Snorkel on one of our beautiful reefs! Participants and marine life are photographed during the excursion and these are presented on a personal memory stick. 9

RESEARCH ID SHOOT AND SEASONAL ADVENTURES Join our resident Marine Biologist on an essential on-going research snorkelling adventure to take identification photos of animals such as mantas and turtles. Please visit the Dive Centre for more information on this private adventure and other seasonal excursions. CORAL ADOPTION PROGRAMME During the development of Anantara Kihavah Villas the Elements Kihavah Team nurtured small corals and created coral gardens in various areas of the lagoon by attaching the growing corals on frames. This conservation effort proved to be very successful and the initial results can already be seen around the island. However, this is an on-going process and you are encouraged to contribute to the project by adopting a coral frame and participating in the creation and planting thereof. Three different frame sizes are available for sponsorship: Small 100 Medium 200 Large 400 After you have adopted a coral frame you can monitor the growing process online as the Marine Biologist uploads images every three months. 10

Most scheduled excursions require a minimum of four people. Private charters vessels can be arranged with a guide, subject to availability. All activity, adventure and excursion participants do so at their own risk and all water sport activities are subject to weather conditions. All participants in all water based activities are required to complete and sign a liability release releasing the operator and resort of all liability. Furthermore, all participants in all water based activities (except for Scuba Diving) must wear a life vest. The operator reserves the right to suspend any given activity or excursion at any time. Lost or damaged equipment will be charged at replacement cost rates. A competency assessment (at a small fee) is required for the use of windsurfing, kiting and sailing equipment unless under instruction.
