1 Band Manager & Band Members, There are an estimated 4000 skateboarders in Franklin County, MO and the closest skatepark is close to an hour away. Instead of providing areas where these athletes can skate, cities across the county have attempted to solve the problem by confiscating skateboards and ticketing skateboarders. In an effort to serve the community Wellspring Church opened a small indoor skatepark in April of Over 80 skateboarders registered the first weekend to skateboard on residential quality ramps in a 60 x 30 area inside the church s multi-purpose building the only legal place to skate in the county. As Friday night Late Skates drew over 100 teens Wellspring Church quickly realized for the skatepark to reach its full potential they were going to need help. The Crux was launched in January of 2007 with a board of businessmen and community leaders for the purpose of building and opening a professional quality full-time not-for-profit skatepark. The board recommended launching a concert venue in the current location to provide additional revenue for building the skatepark. Board members provided donations and interest-free loans so that a high quality sound system could be purchased to launch the concert venue. This past year The Crux the sound system was paid off through concert revenue and now it s time to turn on sights back to our original goal of building a high quality full-time skatepark. We are hosting Rock 4 Ramps to raise cash for the new ramps. With your help Franklin County, MO will finally have a place open full-time where skateboarding isn t a crime! Rock 4 Ramps, an all-day battle of the bands, will be held on May 8, The winning band from the all-day battle will receive a custom merch pack with a retail value of $4000! The 1 st runner up will receive a custom merch pack with a retail value of $1000. (see FAQs for more info on prizes) We can wait for the politicians to do something or we can Rock 4 Ramps! If you are ready to join the cause please read the rest of this information very carefully and be sure to follow the directions carefully to insure your spot in Rock 4 Ramps. May the Battle Begin, Matt Clayton Executive Director The Crux

The first 10 bands that turn in a completed and signed registration form and $100 deposit at The Crux will be registered for Rock 4 Ramps. If you would like to register in person please call to arrange a time to meet at The Crux (I m off on Mondays). If you will be mailing your registration and deposit please let us know when it is in the mail and we will save a spot for 2 days for you until we receive your registration form and deposit. It s always risky to send cash, a check is safer. The Crux Washington, MO Can I pick the time slot my band plays? Yes, by selling more tickets than any other band you can have the exact time slot that you want! Should I tell The Crux what time slot we want or need? No, because we aren t in control of your time slot you are (hint: sell lots of tickets) Do we have to sell tickets? Only if you are concerned with getting your deposit back or picking the time slot your band plays. Can we get more than 50 tickets? Yes, and to get a premium time slot you will need to get more. Call and arrange a time to drop off your ticket money and pick up another 50 tickets. What time does my band need to be there the day of the event? All band equipment and band members must be here by 10 am Saturday May 8, When do unsold tickets and ticket money need to be turned in? Ticket money and unsold tickets must be turned in by no later than 10 am on May 8, Bands will not play until all their ticket money and unsold tickets are turned in (Ticket money and unsold tickets must equal $400) You are responsible for all lost or missing tickets; please treat each ticket like it s $8. What is the absolute last time that band members can arrive due to (insert pathetic excuse here)? All band members must be present when it s their band s turn to set-up. Any bands not completely present will be bumped from the schedule. The last thing we want to do during a concert is bump a band, so please be responsible and make sure everyone is here early. How many people can my band get in Rock 4 Ramps for free? Band members are the only ones allowed in for free. All roadies, groupies, and mommies must pay.
5 What do you mean by band member? By band members we mean person singing and/or playing a primary instrument on stage during your band s performance. What do you mean by primary instrument? By primary instrument we mean guitars, drums, keyboards, etc. Instruments that some roadies will claim that they play that aren t real instruments are: tambourines, shaker eggs, maracas, washboard, jug, rain stick, triangle, spoons, kazoo, predator calls, whistle, fowl calls, pen whistle, recorder, pan flute, zibraslap, toca frog, LP Damaru, wind harp, didgeridoo, and jaw harp. My mom (and/or girlfriend) is going to be taking pictures of us while performing, is she considered a band member? For you, ummmm.. no. Is it helpful for my parents to give the sound man negative feedback, advice, instructions, complaints, etc? Let s just say that if they are not the designated contact person for the band this is incredibly unprofessional and since you are being scored on professionalism I would make sure this doesn t happen. It s also not a good idea to have you parents call The Crux complaining that you are registered to play at Fight For Freedom and they didn t know anything about it. Again, unprofessional strongly encourage you to make sure it doesn t happen. What does the proceeds from this event goes towards? The proceeds from this event will buy ramps for the new Ramp Park at The Crux. Do you have any more details about the Grand Prize? Here s a way you can raise some cash while promoting your band. Our Grand Prize includes the following: (300) Custom T-Shirts (300 x $10 each = $3000 profit) o One Professional Design Included o Up to three Different Designs Printed (band provides artwork for other 2) o Printed with up to Three Colors on One Side (1000) 1 buttons (1000 x $.50 each = $500 profit) (1000) 3.5 x2 stickers (1000 x $.50 each = $500 profit) $4000 total retail value! Do you have any more details about the 1 st Runner Up prize? (1000) 1 buttons (1000 x $.50 each = $500 profit) (1000) 3.5 x2 stickers (1000 x $.50 each = $500 profit) $1000 total retail value!
