Please forward to the Dealer, together with the TRx system, in order to properly look after the specific needs of the client.

2 - 2- Important The most important link in the delivery chain is the end user. The user must be satisfied with the product in terms of function, safety and aesthetics. No sale is complete unless the end user receives thorough training in all aspects of the care and use of the system. A complete instruction session with your customer is essential. Only the dealer and the health care professional can ensure that the system is set up properly and safely for the specific needs of the individual user. Training Installation and set-up of the Pivot Plus Manual Elevating Legrests must only be done by a trained technician or healthcare professional. If you are not certified as an installer, please arrange immediately for training by a Motion Concepts technician or sales agent who has been certified to teach installation and set-up of the Pivot Plus Manual Elevating Legrests. Every effort will be made to meet your training needs. Note: Before proceeding with the installation/ set-up, please ensure that no pages are missing from this manual. 5 2.0 TRx Pivot Plus Manual ELR Set-up 2.1 Knee Pivot Adjustment Attach the TRx Pivot Plus (PP) Manual Elevating Legrests onto the seating system by inserting the legrest pins into the legrest receivers (see image A.). A. 2. Seat the client in the chair. 3. Check the pivot point of the clients knee in relation to the pivot point on the leg-rest. Both pivot points should align so that they rotate around the same axis. During the set-up/ adjustment of the PP legrests, please note that moving the legrest receiver inward prevents footplate-to-foot separation, and moving the legrest outward will reduce back pressure on the legs when elevating (refer to Figure 2.0 (p.6)). Legrest Receiver Pivot Block Pin pivot axis Important! The proper alignment of the legrest pivot axis and the pivot axis of the knee is critical to the set-up of the Pivot Plus Legrests and to their overall function and comfort. 4. To adjust the pivot point, remove the bolt in the pivot block that secures the legrest pin in place. The pin has four adjustment holes that allow the position of the pivot block to be raised or lowered. Select the hole position that aligns the legrest pivot point with the clients knee pivot point (see image B.). Raising the pivot point will reduce back pressure on the legs during elevating and lowering the pivot point will help prevent footplateto-foot separation. (refer to Figure 2.0 (p.6)). If the pivot point of the legrest is still too high when the pin is positioned at the lowest setting, the leg receivers can be inverted* which will lower the overall legrest height by *Note: In order to invert the legrest receivers, both the left and right receivers must first be removed. The left and right receivers are then switched (left side to right side...), and turned upside down so the receiver section is now flush with the legrest tube (see image C.). Repeat Step 3, if necessary, to achieve the proper knee pivot set-up. (Please Note: Omit Step 5 for Heavy Duty Systems.) C. 7 2.0 TRx Pivot Plus Manual ELR Set-up 2.2 Legrest est Angle Adjustment With the knee pivot adjustment properly set-up, the legrest angle is controlled manually via the cam lock assembly. By holding down the cam lever, the legrest can be positioned manually to the desired angle. Releasing the lever will lock the legrest in position. (refer to images D, E, F. below) D. E. The positive stop bolt (see image G.) operates as a safety stop to prevent the legrest from retracting inward past a set angle. As the legrest retracts, the pivot block will eventually come in contact with the positive stop bolt and prevent any further retraction. G. Pivot Block Note: If necessary, a longer bolt may be used in order to achieve the required stop angle. Positive Stop Bolt 2.3 Leg g Extension Adjustment 1. Leg extension adjustments can be made to accommodate various knee to heel lengths. There are three extension tube sizes available: Short (12-16 ); Long (15-19 ); and Extra Long-XL (18-21 ). Each of these extension tubes is length adjustable at 1 intervals. H. Down Tube Legrest Extension Tube

8 2.0 TRx Pivot Plus Manual ELR Set-up 2.4 Calf Pad Adjustment The calf pad can be adjusted for height and depth depending on the needs of the client The calf pad mounting bracket has 4 adjustable mounting positions (see image I. below). There are two optional height adjustments at 1/2 spacing, and two optional depth adjustments at 1 spacing. I. Calf Pad Mounting Bracket 1/2 1 Down Tube Calf Pad 2. The calf pad can also be adjusted to move the pad inward and outward from the mounting bracket. There are two key methods for adjustment (listed below): Note: by utilizing different combinations of these adjustments, numerous calf pad positions can be achieved. i) Three separate nylon spacers are installed along the swivel bolt (refer to image J.). Each of these spacers differ in length and may be placed in any orientation around the swivel bracket in order to adjust the position of the calf pad. 1/2 Nylon Spacer 1/4 Nylon Spacer 1 Nylon Spacer J. ii) The swivel bracket has two sets of mounting holes that can also be used to adjust the position of the calf pad. The standard mounting position is shown in image J. By using the forward mounting holes the calf pad will extend outward by approximately 1 1/2. Note: Image J. shows calf pad from a Pivot Plus Power Legrest, but adjustments are identical. Swivel Bracket Optional Mounting Holes Swivel Bolt

9 2.0 TRx Pivot Plus Manual ELR Set-up 2.5 Footplate te Adjustment - 9- The footplate can be adjusted in several locations, depending on the client's needs. Please refer to images K. and L. below for an illustration of the various adjustment points on the footplate. 1. The clamping block can be fastened to the foot plate in 3 different locations. These adjustments will move the entire footplate position forward and aft. Note: by inverting the clamping block, 3 additional forward and aft mounting positions can be achieved (inverted clamping block not shown). Each adjustment is at a 1 interval 2. By loosening the clamping block, the entire footplate can be move in and out along the length of the pivot bracket tube. 3. The heel strap can also be adjusted into 3 different positions (front to back). Each strap adjustment is at a 1 interval. 4. The angle of the footplate can be altered by adjusting the nylon set-screw inside the pivot bracket. With the set screw fully inserted the footplate will rest at 90 degrees (perpendicular to the legrest extension tube). Loosening the set screw will gradually decrease the footplate angle (less than 90 degrees). Adjustable Heel Strap position Pivot Bracket Tube K.
