There will be a group dinner celebration on the evening of Saturday, August 16. The Vermont adventure will be a joint event with Trailsweepers incorporating their annual bicycling weekend. Brunch at Innisfree Garden August 24 Join us for brunch at Innisfree Garden on August 24. This will be an opportunity to stroll through the Garden at a leisurely pace and enjoy brunch outdoors in a lovely setting. For anyone who has not been there before, it is a beautiful garden with waterfalls and rock formations in an architectural landscape of plantings. Admission to the Garden is $7.00 and brunch is $5.00. We will meet in the parking lot at 11:00 a.m. and set up at the picnic tables at the top of the hill. The Garden is open until 5:00 p.m. providing plenty of time to relax and enjoy touring the Garden. We will provide coffee, juice, bagels, coffeecake or pastries, fruit, etc. I will be available at the August Club meeting to accept payment for the brunch or you can pay the day of the event, if you contact me ahead of time. You need to be fitted for a harness and have a safety talk before going onto the course. To save time you can print and fill out the release form ahead of time. Other things to know: Wear comfortable clothes, dress in layers, it may be cool in the morning. Wear sneakers or hiking boots - no sandals or loafers. If you have long hair, keep it tied back. They have gloves but you may want to bring your own. If people are interested we can have lunch at 4 Brothers Pizza afterwards. 7 HVSC Page Kayaking Schedule Things to remember: Let s get ready for some fun and adventure this year with the launch of the kayak schedule. 1. Working kayak/canoe. 2. Paddle, life vest, spray skirt, water, snacks, camera. 3. Proper clothes for the weather, gloves, hat, and anything else you might need. Dates, places, times, and description for remaining trips are noted below. Trips are usually a go if it is sunny, cloudy, or a little bit of rain. They are cancelled if weather is not conducive to paddling! Aug am Cold Springs, NY-- kayak launch Head south on the Hudson River to Constitution Marsh Easy Sept am Dutchman s Landing Park Catskill, NY Meet at park. Up the creek with a paddle ; possible Ramshorn Sanctuary. Easy Oct am Cheviot Park near Germantown, NY. Paddle and then end of season picnic. Bring chairs. Bring a lawn chair and your crystal candelabra for a night of great music and favorite film clips with the Symphony providing the background music under the direction of John Williams. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased on site. The Tanglewood Shed is a lovely setting with good visibility of large screens and an excellent sound system. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. We'll look for you if we know The Vanderbilt Mansion you're coming. Leave message at or just show up. On the nights it's held at Mills Mansion, we'll meet on the left side of the stage at the bottom of the hill. It's a nice way to spend a summer evening and enjoy local musicians. See schedule below.
