2 Welcome to your Dodge Ridge Group Trip Quick Guide to getting started:. Contact the Dodge Ridge Groups Sales Team Group Sales can be reached at (209) or (209) or fill out the group reservation request form at: and to to get your reservation started. 2. Organize your Group Choose a single Group Leader to be the contact person for Dodge Ridge. Get a minimum of 5 people together for the trip. Reference the Lesson Level and Groups Pricing pages of this packet to determine which activities each group member will participate in. Use the Group Leader Worksheet provided in this packet to assist you in organizing these activities by group member. As your trip date approaches, we will send a Confirmation Worksheet to be filled out by the Group Leader. This worksheet will outline exactly how many of each type of activity you will be utilizing on your trip as well as cost breakdown and total. 3. Arrive at Dodge Ridge Contact the group sales office when you depart and update any last minute changes. Group leader arrive at The Group Sales Office, located just off of the plaza, with the completed Rental and Lesson Agreement for Release of Liability forms. The remainder of your group can wait in their assigned area. The Group Sales Office is open and ready to assist you as early as 7:30 am. We recommend that you arrive no later than 8:00am. Lifts open at 9:00 am; lessons for levels, 2 and 3 start at 0:00am; and lessons for levels 4-6 start at :00 pm. Please have one payment to purchase your group s lessons, lift tickets, equipment, and lunch vouchers. Meet your group in your assigned meeting area to distribute tickets and rental forms. This is also a great time to discuss with your group the schedule for the day.

4 Group Leader Checklist 5 weeks to visit Received Liability Forms from Dodge Ridge Received Confirmation Worksheet from Dodge Ridge 4 weeks to visit Distribute Liability forms to group members Liability forms must be fully completed and signed Parents or Guardians must initial the grey box on the front page Parents or Guardians must sign the yellow copy of the form. Group member must also sign the yellow copy of the form. Request more forms from Dodge Ridge if there are not enough. 3 weeks to visit Receive Liability forms back from group members. Verify they are fully completed, initialed, and signed. Send forms back home with group members who have not completed forms. Review Confirmation Worksheet and start gathering the needs of your group (i.e., lift tickets only, lessons, equipment, meal vouchers etc.). 2 weeks to visit All liability forms are collected, and stored until day of trip. Inform group members what their costs will be, based on their specific needs. Begin filling out Confirmation Worksheet 7 days prior to visit Fax ( ) or ( groupsales@dodgeridge.com ) Confirmation Worksheet to Dodge Ridge Group Sales. Collect any fees from your group members (note: Dodge Ridge will accept one form of payment from the group leader). Prepare a roster of names to be attached to your Ski Patrol form with emergency phone numbers if possible. Please note that we plan our staffing based on the products you request. If a person decides on the day of the trip that they want a snowboard lesson rather than ski, it may create complications for us to satisfy that request on the day of the visit. We will do everything in our ability to make it happen. Day of Visit Have all of your liability forms. Call ( ), ( groupsales@dodgeridge.com ), or fax ( ) any changes to your visit. By doing so we expedite the process and will have your products available upon arrival. Upon arrival the Group Leader will proceed to the Group Sales office, as the remainder of the group will choose a standard meeting area and await the Group Leader. 7 Frequently Asked Questions. What does the group leader do? The group leader is the single contact for Dodge Ridge. The group leader should be the person to collect all data, and ensure all forms are filled out correctly. The group leader will meet in the Groups Sales room on the day of the trip to purchase the lift tickets, lunch vouchers, lesson packages and rental equipment. 2. Can I book a group during the Holiday times? Absolutely! Special Rates will apply. 3. Can I reschedule my booked trip? We completely understand that unforeseen events arise making it necessary to change your plans. We are more than happy to assist you in rescheduling your group to a date that is more convenient. Please notify us as soon as possible. 4. What is included in the equipment rental package? Included in the rental package for skiers: skis, boots, poles and helmets. Included in the rental package for snowboarders: snowboards, boots and helmets. We offer excellent ski and snowboarding equipment, fitted specifically to your ability by our knowledgeable Rental Center Staff. Please come prepared with of each individual s height, weight, shoe and helmet size. 5. What do we bring? Required Items Eye protection; goggles or sunglasses, waterproof gloves, & sun screen. Recommended items Waterproof pants and jacket, beanie or hat, dress in breathing/wicking base layers. (Only one pair of wicking/wool socks.)avoid cotton base layers. Should you forget anything, our Sports Shop carries a large variety of useful items for your trip. 6. How do I receive my required forms? The Reservation Request Form is on our website, and all other forms are personally ed to you after receipt of the Reservation Form. 7. Do groups receive any complimentary chaperone tickets? Yes! Every 6 th lift ticket is complimentary for a chaperone! For every 5 paid lift tickets, your group will receive one complimentary lift ticket, valid only on the day of your visit. 8. What kind of weather and roads can I expect? Visit our web-site for up to date mountain conditions: For current chain requirements, road conditions, and weather forecast please listen to our snow phone by calling ( 209) We are located on the Western side of the Sierras off of all-weather Highway 08. There are no mountain passes to traverse and the great Cal Trans crews keep the highway well maintained. As always, carry chains with you when traveling in the mountains, and contact Cal Trans as road conditions change throughout the day. Be sure to check the Cal Trans Web Information Link, and then enter 08 into the Highway Number Search Box or call The highway does close for the winter, but not until approx. 30 miles past the exit to Dodge Ridge.

8 Determining Lesson Levels Level (Green) Terrain = Beginner Ski /Snowboard Never Skied or Snowboarded before, instructor will introduce equipment, sliding, balance, stopping, climbing, gliding wedge (ski), beginner lifts, introduction to turning left and right. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Level 2 (Yellow) Terrain = Beginner Ski Student has learned how to snowplow stop, ride the rope tow, instructor will work on turning, speed control, linking turns. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Snowboard Student has learned how to stop, starting to make turns. Instructor will work on turns for both heel and toe edges, balance and control. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Level 3 (Blue) Terrain = beginner/lower intermediate Ski Student can link turns on beginner terrain and control speed, instructor will introduce intermediate terrain, starting to match skis. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Snowboard Student can stop, turn on both edges. Instructor will work on linking S turns, controlling speed, introducing intermediate terrain, more dynamic movement. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Level 4 (Purple) Terrain = beginner / intermediate Ski Student is comfortable on beginner and some intermediate terrain, starting to match skis. Instructor will introduce parallel turning, explore more challenging terrain. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Snowboard Student can link turns on both edges, comfortable on easy intermediate terrain. Instructor will work on varying turn shapes, more challenging terrain, and introduction to riding switch. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Level 5 (Red) Terrain = intermediate / some advanced Ski Student is comfortable on blue and easy black terrain using parallel turns. Instruction will include short turns, variable terrain, carving techniques, dynamic movement. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Snowboard Student is comfortable on all beginner and intermediate terrain, can link turns and control speed, starting to ride switch. Instruction will include short turns, carving, dynamic movement, introduction to the terrain park, variable terrain. Students will learn safety codes and mountain courtesy. Level 6 (Black) Terrain = All mountain Ski Student comfortable on all terrain, instruction will include short turns, carving, steeps, moguls, powder, terrain park skills. 10 SAFETY TIPS At Dodge Ridge, the safety of our guests is of utmost importance. Being knowledgeable about the safety codes and procedures will ensure everyone has a great time and stays safe! Dodge strongly supports the Lids on Kids campaign by making helmets free to all children 4-2 who enroll in a lesson. Your Responsibility Code. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects. 2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It s your responsibility to avoid them. 3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above. 4. Whenever starting downhill or merging onto a trail, look uphill and yield to others. 5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment. 6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas. 7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely. Kids On Lifts GET ON SIT BACK, SIT STILL, HOLD ON // AT THE TOP PLAN AHEAD TO UNLOAD. Need assistance? Ask the lift attendant for help. Smallest kids should load closet to the attendant. 2. Remove and carry packs. Do not use phones, music or games while loading or unloading. 3. It s OK to miss a chair and wait for the next one. 4. When loading, watch for approaching chair and then sit to the back once seated! 5. Drop something? Let it fall. Any item dropped can be picked up later. 6. Absolutely NO horseplay on the lifts!
