5 Step 1: Submit Your Request at If you ve got this packet already, you ve most likely got this covered! This form will ask for the standard information: Who? What? When? Etc. It will also ask you to pick the date for your trip and an alternate date (if possible) just in case anything were to happen to prevent you from coming on your planned date. Step 2: Distribute Liability Forms to Participants One size fits all! With this packet you have received enough forms for your projected group size (and probably a few extras). Use the BLUE Children s Liability Form for everyone ages 12 and under and use the RED Adult / Teen Liability Form for everyone ages 13 and above. If you have any extra forms, please return them on the day of your visit. If you need more forms, let us know and we ll send some out to you! You ll want to distribute forms at least a month in advance. Make sure that the forms are all signed and dated with the date of your visit and both front and back sides are filled out. Step 3: Re-Collect Liability Forms from Participants Please make sure that all fields are filled out on each form, both front and back, including all signature fields marked with the date of your visit (not the date signed). Other important information to know is what level lesson each person will be taking and if they are skiing or snowboarding. For your reference, a Lesson Level Determination Sheet is included in this handbook. It s generally a good idea to collect payment at the same time, since we only accept one payment per group, which can be cash or credit card. Step 4: Prepare Your Roster Using the information on the liability forms, record each participant. Bring this form with you when you come! A blank roster form is enclosed in this packet. Please also complete the Emergency Contact Information your group. This form will be given to the Ski Patrol the day of your visit.

6 Step 5: Fill out the Order Form This form tells us what you ll need on the day of your visit. Once completed, please this form to at least 7 days in advance so we can ensure the best possible experience on the mountain! We know that these do change sometimes at the last minute, but it gives us extra info to help us plan for your visit. Step 6: Last Minute Preparation The day before your trip, make sure to check the weather and road conditions. You can do so at or call our snowphone at It s also a good idea to double check the morning of your visit. Step 7: Show Up You ll want to arrive by 8:00am for check-in at the Family Lodge with your Group Coordinator. This will allow for enough time to check in and make sure everyone in your group gets their tickets and equipment before their lesson. 9 How to Determine Lesson Levels Level 1 = Beginner Ski & Snowboard Never Skied or Snowboarded before, instructor will introduce equipment, sliding, balance, stopping, climbing, gliding wedge (ski), beginner lifts, introduction to turning left and right. Level 2 = Beginner Ski Student has learned how to snowplow stop, and ride the rope tow. Instructor will work on turning, speed control, linking turns. Snowboard Student has learned how to stop and is starting to make turns. Instructor will work on improving turns, balance and control. Level 3 = Beginner/Lower Intermediate Ski Student can link turns on beginner terrain and control speed, instructor will introduce intermediate terrain, starting to match skis. Snowboard Student can stop, turn on both edges. Instructor will work on linking S turns, controlling speed, introducing intermediate terrain, more dynamic movement. Level 4 = Beginner/Intermediate Ski Student is comfortable on beginner and some intermediate terrain, starting to match skis. Instructor will introduce parallel turning, explore more challenging terrain. Snowboard Student can link turns on both edges, comfortable on easy intermediate terrain. Instructor will work on varying turn shapes, more challenging terrain, and introduction to riding switch. Level 5 = Intermediate/Some Advanced Ski Student is comfortable on blue and easy black terrain using parallel turns. Instruction will include short turns, variable terrain, carving techniques, dynamic movement. Snowboard Student is comfortable on beginner to intermediate terrain, links turns and controls speed.. Instruction will include short turns, carving, dynamic movement, and introduction to the terrain park. Level 6 = All Mountain Ski Student comfortable on all terrain, instruction will include short turns, carving, steeps, moguls, powder, terrain park skills. Students will continue to work on improving overall skill and technique. Snowboard Student comfortable on all terrain, instruction will include short turns, carving, steeps, moguls, powder, terrain park skills. Students will continue to work on overall skill and technique.

10 At Dodge Ridge, the safety of our guests is of utmost importance. Being knowledgeable about the safety codes and procedures will ensure everyone has a great time and stays safe! We strongly support the Lids on Kids campaign by making helmets free to all children 12 and under. Your Responsibility Code 1. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects. 2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It s your responsibility to avoid them. 3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above. 4. Whenever starting downhill or merging onto a trail, look uphill and yield to others. 5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment. 6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas. 7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely. Kids On Lifts GET ON SIT BACK, SIT STILL, HOLD ON // AT THE TOP PLAN AHEAD TO UNLOAD 1. Need help? Ask the lift attendant. Smallest kids should load closest to the attendant. 2. Remove and carry packs. Do not use phones, music or games while loading or unloading. 3. It s OK to miss a chair and wait for the next one. 4. When loading, watch for approaching chair and then sit to the back once seated! 5. Drop something? Let it fall. Any item dropped can be picked up later. 6. Absolutely NO horseplay on the lifts!
