The athletes themselves always write the season s dramaturgy and this time, the fight for the overall title wasn t decided until the last jump of the final competition day. Throughout the whole season, not less than 13 different athletes from 8 nations won at least one individual competition. Thus, it certainly was one of the most exciting World Cup seasons ever and also an extremely successful one for our organizing National Ski Federations. This fact has been confirmed by both media and TV data as well as the number of spectators on site. However, there were a few downers, as the fantastic atmosphere in the stadiums was interrupted by some severe falls. The common goal to further improve our discipline still has to be: Every single fall is one too many. Our highly developed rules and standards have been exhausted to its limits by partially tough, external conditions. Therefore, we are already in full swing to prepare for the upcoming duties: calendar planning, equipment specifications and competition rules are once again being put to the test by our committees. However, there are no major changes emerging. Slight modifications will instead contribute to further continuity in Ski Jumping. Kind regards, INERNATIONAL SKI FEDERATION Walter Hofer Race Director Ski Jumping 2 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup 2014/15 3
