DESCRIPTION In Canada, in the region of Kootenay, along the Canadian Rocky Mountains, between Alberta and British Colombia, the Powder Highway connects the most snowy ski resorts of the North American continent. By following this 1300 km thread, we will follow the valleys that give access to the main peaks of the Monashees, Selkirk and Purcell ranges, making this region mythical for all off-piste skiing, ski touring, heliskiing and cat-skiing lovers and those who are crazy about big powder. During the trip, we will halt in Fernie and its 11m of snow per winter; Nelson, the coolest city of the Powder Highway, located at the foot of the steep slopes of Whitewater resort near Red Mountain; Revelstoke, the region s last born resort, offering the possibility to do catskiing and heli-skiing in addition to off-piste skiing; Kicking Horse, the self-proclaimed capital of champagne powder; and Lake Louise, famous for its huge domain

Click here and enjoy the 2016 galery WHAT YOU WILL DO DURING THE SAFARI You will do 10 days of off-piste skiing, discovering the wild Western mountains preserved by the natural reserve of the national parks of Purcell, Revelstoke and Banff. You will ski from 700 to 1700 meter down on virgin snow, alternating steep slopes and pillows, alpine bowls and large forests with widely spaced trees... It's now time to go for a drink in Nelson, an iconic hippie town in the Kootenay region. The city centre offers many good restaurants, cafés, stores and small art galleries. You will share unforgettable moments with participants from around the world; skis all speak the same language! ITINERARY DAY 1: International airport of Calgary: Welcoming at Calgary Airport.?First meeting your guide. Transfer by minibus to Fernie, our first step. Night in Fernie. DAY 2: Fernie: Leg warming up and discovery of the domain of Fernie, a resort famous for its (11m per year on average) impressive amount of snow. Night in Fernie.

3 DAY 3: Fernie - Nelson: Ski Fernie again, we will then head to Nelson (3h30). Night in Nelson. DAY 4: Whitewater Skiing in Whitewater above Nelson, a small resort famous for its steep runs and the absence of queeing at the lifts. Night in Nelson. DAY 5: Red Mountain After a short tranfer, we will ski in Red Mountain, a great resort with a spectacular playground. Night in Nelson. DAY 6: Whitewater Ski in Whitewater or Red Mountain according to the ski conditions. Night in Nelson. DAY 7: Transfer day On the way to Revelstoke, lakes and river follows one another... Enjoy the ride. Night in Revelstoke. DAY 8: Revelstoke Skiing in Revelstoke, the resort of all the superlatives of the region. The place where everything is possible: Alps-like long runs, heliskiing, catskiing, ski touring... Night in Revelstoke. DAY 9: Revelstoke Skiing in Revelstoke. Night in Revelstoke. DAY 10: Rogers pass On the road between Revelstoke and Kicking Horse, when arriving at Rogers pass, the mountain is a mere invitation to apply our seal skins to induge into the B.C. spirit for a memorable day on the slopes of the 3284 m high Mount Sir Donald. After ski touring we will drive for 90 more minutes before arriving in Golden. Night in Golden.

4 DAY 11: Kicking horse Skiing in Kicking Horses, a small resort famous for its steep descents. Night in Golden. DAY 12: Lake Louise After a quite short ride from Golden, we will put our skis on to discover Lake Louise. Surrounded by a National Park, Lake Louise is the largest resort in the region and offers extensive off-piste terrain in a breathtaking decor. Night in Banff. DAY 13: Breakfast, before heading for Calgary. Return Flight Programme subject to change, in order to make the best of prevailing weather and snow conditions. BED & BREAKFAST We have chosen typical motels or lodges in each valley, which will allow you to have an authentic western experience. INCLUDED IN THE PRICE 9V GUIDE: Registered professional mountain guide U.I.A.G.M. or a ski guide. ACCOMMODATION :12 nights in B&B twin room basis.

5 LIFT PASSES: in every ski resort we cross. TRANSPORTATION: All transportation during the safari. The transport will be done in 4x4 pick-up driven by the guide. SAFETY KIT: Shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche beacon are lent to each participant for the week, must be worn under your jacket and turned on at all times while skiing. If you have your own bring it! EXTRAS RESCUE INSURANCE: Compulsory for all trips, even those that only ski at the resorts, for mountain rescue, assistance, transportation to nearest hospital, etc. TRIP INSURANCE (Check your credit card policy): May be subscribed privately for cancellation before the trip or interruption due to accident and repatriation. Highly recommended, as all subsisting costs will be charged in case of absence. Payment by credit card, Visa Premier or Gold MasterCard, may provide cancellation insurance. Check your contract. SINGLE ROOM: (50 per day) Extra privacy each night for individuals traveling alone who would like extra space. AIRLINE TICKET: Each participant should buy it's own airfaire. 6 HELISKI / CATSKI: Our tour takes place in the motherland of heliski and catski. A day of catskiing cost 500 per person. A day heliskiing (7/8 runs) cost 1600 per person. DINNER: It's the opportunity to stop in typical restaurant, discover their local food. Guide s dinner is to be offered by the participants. GROUP EQUIPEMENT (PROVIDED BY 9V) SAFETY KIT: Including shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche beeper: Must be worn by each participant at all times off-piste. If you have your own, please bring it. Indicate whether or not on booking form. SAFETY AND RESCUE EQUIPMENT: Each guide will have all that is necessary for the safety of his group in his rucksack : radio or mobile phone, first aid kit, tools for repair, space blanket, rope, shovel, avalanche probe...). The guide may ask you to carry such equipment in your rucksack. If you are an experienced mountaineer with your own equipment, bring it with you. WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WIDE TOURING SKIS: 9V guides use and recommend wide skis that make all kinds of snow fun and are light enough to use with touring bindings to go uphill with skins in order to garanty access to untracked snow. There is so much snow in British Colombia, the best ski equipment to bring are fat skis (100mm widght or more under the foot) with low tech bindings. Diamir or Marker touring bindings are fine. BAGGAGE: Please travel light! As you will be staying in 5 different places during the Safari, make sure that your baggage is practical, quickly packed and easy to carry.?it will be transported from one hotel to the next, but there are no "porteurs" to and from the rooms, and please think of the bus driver who will be loading and unloading all the bagage. Please, only one baggage per person to be transported and no loose belongings likely to get lost. SMALL RUCKSACK for daily necessities. 25 liters will be a good choice. Inside your pack you should have:?

7 -1 x Goggles with 2 spatre lenses.?-2 x Sscarf or neck-warmer to protect against wind, cold, sun or powder. -1 x spare gloves or mittens.?-sunscreen for lips and face (high protection).?-pocket knife for picnics.?-foil Blanket in case of accident (or even chair lift breakdowns).? -Beverages, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, muësli bars...?-shovel and probe. If you have your own, bring them.?-optional: Camera, video or binoculars, swiss army knife. -Puffy jacket, compressed at the bottom of the rucksack. CLOTHING: Most of your time will be spent in ski wear. Remember to bring very warm clothes, you will get cold and humid, It s snowing hard often in March in British Colombia. If you have room in your already heavy baggages, it may be comfortable to have two skiing outfits. If properly equipped, you'll enjoy the skiing, whatever the weather. We ski in all conditions.
