1 Notice of Race 2016 U12 Interzone Championships Saturday, March 12 th and Sunday, March 13 th Location: Big White Ski Resort hosted by Big White Ski Club Events: Saturday, March 12 th - Two (2) x one (1) run GS races. Start ramp midway down Paradise. Sunday, March 13 th - Two (2) x one (1) run Slalom races. Start ramp on lower portion of Paradise, just off of Exhibition. Morning race with short 150 cm gates, afternoon race with panelled gates. Awards: Rio Tinto Medals by gender for 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and Ribbons 4 th to 10 th Awards ceremony Saturday, March 12 th at 4:30 p.m. Upstairs at Happy Valley Day Lodge. Pizza and juice will be provided for all athletes and coaches. Awards ceremony Sunday, March 13 th at approximately 3:00 p.m.in Village Centre Mall. Eligibility: Entry Fee: All BC Alpine Registered U12 Athletes. U12s will be seeded randomly for all races. $80 per athlete total (includes 2 BBQ lunches and 1 dinner). Lift tickets NOT included. Cheques payable to Big White Ski Club. Race entry payment Friday, March 11 th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Big White Ski Club Cabin. 1

2 Deposit: $100 bib and teardown deposit to be submitted on separate cheque payable to Big White Ski Club. Registration: Register online at BC Alpine by March 8 th, Volunteers: Volunteer online at BC Alpine by March 8 th, Volunteers receive complimentary lift passes and bag lunch. Coaches Meeting: Friday, March 11 th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Big White Ski Club Cabin. Rules: BC Alpine and Local Rules apply. Helmets mandatory no attachments on top of helmet allowed. Protest fee: $100 payable by cash only. Racer Down Protocol in effect. Racers must have their lift tickets visible at all times. Ski Patrol is the 1 st responder to a racer with injuries. Speed suits allowed. Lift Tickets: Passes are available for purchase at the VILLAGE CENTRE MALL ticket kiosks (located at the top of the Gondola) on Friday night or Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00 a.m. Discount on lift passes for registered racers. Reciprocal mountain discount on lift passes for family members of racers. Inform the ticket agent that you are attending the race to receive the discounts. Coaches and volunteers will receive complimentary passes at the Race Office. 2

3 Accommodations: Please visit or call Big White Central Reservations at Meals: One BBQ lunch ticket/day will be provided for all racers and coaches. BBQ lunch is available for purchase by parents ($5 cash only). Dinner will be provided (pizza and juice) for all racers and coaches on Saturday night. Parking: It is recommended that all visiting clubs use the Happy Valley parking lot. From the Happy Valley parking lot take the gondola up to the village and ski over to the club cabin via Hummingbird. To avoid a hike, stay high on Hummingbird.
