Cde Departure frm UK Arrival back in UK F10 Sun 12-Feb-17 Fri 17-Feb-17 F11 Sun 19-Feb-17 Fri 24-Feb-17 T the muntains MEETING AT OTFORD MANOR As described in the brchure and n ur website, this trip is a little different t ther Oak Hall ski trips as equipment fitting (fr ver 12s) takes place at Otfrd Manr befre we leave. Please arrive at Otfrd Manr at 15:00 n the Sunday yur trip begins and have yur ski scks handy s yu can ensure yur bts fit cmfrtably. It will take sme time t fit equipment fr the whle grup s we will enjy getting t knw each ther and perhaps playing sme games arund the lg fire in the dining rm whilst this takes place in stages. The Manr team will prvide plenty f ht and cld drinks, cakes and ther snacks during this time. Once fitted with the crrect equipment we will take yu t ur cach, then nwards t the Eurtunnel terminal and thrugh the night t Germany. PARKING AT OTFORD MANOR There is a charge f 17 t park yur car fr the duratin f the hliday, payable in advance. Please nte that vehicles are left in the car park at yur wn risk. Fr directins t the Manr visit (NB: Sat Navs ften give incrrect directins fr ur pstcde). TRAVELLING BY COACH Yu will begin yur cach jurney frm Otfrd as detailed abve. There are n ther pssible barding pints, althugh yu may disembark at the Stp 24 service statin in Flkestne n the jurney hme. LUGGAGE As a grup we dress casually and ur chalets are warm, s please keep yur luggage light and t a minimum. Please make sure yur case is rbust and weatherprf as we cannt accept respnsibility fr any damage. With limited space fr luggage available n ur caches, the weight limit is 20kg. Please ensure that yur suitcase is n larger than 150cm (60 inches) ttal dimensins (length + width + height) r 75 litres. We cannt guarantee t carry luggage in excess f this size r weight. Bts may be brught in a separate bag as part f yur 20kg allwance. One set f skis r a snwbard can be carried at a cst f 20 per persn, prvided we have space available and yu have pre-bked. 2 Please pack a separate small bag with the things yu need fr the first day, as yu will nt have access t yur main luggage until we arrive at the chalet that evening. We suggest yu get changed int yur skiing clthes at the mtrway services, nly an hur frm Feldberg. ITEMS TO BRING ON THE COACH Imprtant items t pack separately (r wear n the cach) are as fllws: passprt mney (eurs) ski jacket hat glves gggles/sunglasses ski-trusers ski scks ther warm layers sun cream water bttle packed fd THE JOURNEY When ski fitting is cmpleted, we will travel by cach frm Otfrd t Flkestne. There will be a shrt break at the Eurtunnel terminal where yu will be able t buy fd and drink befre barding the train fr the 35 minute jurney t Calais. We will travel vernight s we recmmend wearing layered clthing, and bringing a small pillw, thin blanket and yur wash kit in yur hand luggage. We plan t stp at a mtrway service area in Germany n Mnday mrning, where yu can either buy breakfast r eat yur wn packed fd and change int yur skiing clthes. We shuld then arrive at the slpes at arund 10:00 ready t ski. Yu shuld als plan t bring r buy fd fr yur lunch n that day althugh there are sme cafes and restaurants at the resrt. It is ur plicy nt t carry alchl n bard r in the baggage trailers and smking is nt permitted in ur vehicles. On arrival at the slpes we unlad the ski equipment, distribute the ski lift passes and get underway with lessns as sn as everyne is ready. Families with children needing t hire equipment will be taken t a lcal hire shp. This equipment will be rdered in advance by Oak Hall but will have t be paid fr individually. A set f children s equipment is likely t cst abut 30 eurs fr the 4 ski days. If yu will be hiring children s kit it wuld be helpful if yu culd send us an with the height, weight and she size f yur child s that we can make ur advance rder with the rental cmpany. At the end f the day we bard ur cach t travel the shrt distance t ur chalet fr ht shwers, dinner and a gd night's sleep. DAILY ROUTINE On the next three mrnings, after breakfast and having prepared a packed lunch, we will head back t the slpes. On the final day we must vacate the chalet befre we ski, s yu shuld wear yur ski gear as usual and pack yur bags befre getting nt the cach. Yu will be able t make a packed lunch fr that day as befre. At the end f the day we head hme directly frm the slpes, stpping in Freiberg fr an evening break at abut 18:00, then travel thrugh the night t arrive in the UK n Friday mrning. We suggest yu keep sme eurs handy t buy fd and drink n the return jurney. COACH TIMES Please arrive at Otfrd Manr at 15:00 n the Sunday afternn. Tea & cffee available all day (there may be a small charge) Bed linen and twels are prvided Bedrms are nrmally allcated by the ffice befre departure. Mixed accmmdatin is nly available fr married cuples r families. It is ur plicy t request that families with children under 16 share tgether. Items are available t make packed lunches each day. Travel Essentials PASSPORT AND VISAS Yu will need t carry a valid passprt in yur hand luggage in rder t leave the United Kingdm. It wuld be a gd idea t check yur passprt nw t ensure that it is valid fr the duratin f the trip. If yu d nt hld a UK passprt, it is yur respnsibility t check whether yu require any visas fr yur jurney. We strngly advise yu t check this at the time f bking, as there can be delays in issuing visas. N visas are necessary fr British Citizens. EHIC CARD We ask all ur guests (resident in the EU) t btain and carry a free Eurpean Health Insurance Card ( This card facilitates medical care in the EU and Switzerland and is becming a standard requirement by mst travel insurance cmpanies fr EU citizens. Please ensure that yur EHIC is still valid. TRAVEL INSURANCE We require everyne travelling with us t have travel insurance. Please make sure yur plicy includes full wintersprts cver. Please recrd yur plicy number, insurance cmpany and their emergency telephne number in yur nline bking. HOLIDAY MONEY In mst situatins yu can pay with a debit r credit card. Yu can als buy lcal currency (Eurs) befre yu leave. OTHER USEFUL ITEMS Yu will need suitable ftwear fr walking n snw and als indr shes fr the evening. Medical items such as tubi-grips, cld remedies etc may be difficult t find at the resrt, s yu may want t bring sme with yu. If yu sleep lightly and are sharing a rm yu may find ear plugs helpful. Equipment Hire We recmmend that yu use Oak Hall winter sprts equipment which will be fitted fr yu. The minimum age fr Oak Hall ski and snwbard kit hire is 12 years. If yu require equipment utside the sizes we ffer (including children s sizes) r if ur equipment is unsuitable fr yu we will arrange t return any hire payment yu have made t us and intrduce yu t a hire shp where yu can arrange t hire equipment lcally. SKI EQUIPMENT HIRE Our ski equipment cnsists f very gd quality carving skis, bts, ski ples and a bt bag - all available at an ecnmical cst. Our stck f equipment prvides ski lengths cm and adult UK bt sizes If yu are using yur wn bts then please nte that ur kit bindings will accept bts with sle lengths between 26 and 38 cm. SNOWBOARD EQUIPMENT HIRE We ffer excellent adult bards with bindings and sft bts fr hire. Our stck f equipment prvides snwbard lengths cm suitable fr thse weighing between 45kg and 120kg. Bts are available in adult UK sizes HELMETS We strngly recmmend that yu use a helmet when skiing r snwbarding. In sme resrts helmets are a legal requirement fr children. All under 16s in Oak Hall lessns must be wearing a helmet. We are able t prvide sme adult helmets fr hire and they can als be hired at lcal ski shps r frm UK based suppliers. LET US KNOW! Please infrm us f yur equipment requests in advance, including yur height, weight, she size and snwsprts experience s that we can ensure that suitable equipment is available. PAYMENTS All hire charges fr Oak Hall equipment are payable with yur final payment, due tw mnths befre yur hliday departs. 5 Ski and Bard Instructin Our instructin package n trips t the Feldberg will cnsist f 4x2 hur sessins fr a ttal f 58. Occasinally small grups (4 r less) may receive shrter but mre persnalised lessns in rder t best match ability. All grups will receive plenty f persnal tuitin and feedback. SKI INSTRUCTION We ffer ski instructin fr all levels f ability frm beginners t advanced. Whilst ur instructrs are willing t instruct children, parents r guardians must be prepared t accmpany their children during their lessns and at all ther times - this may affect parents wn lessn arrangements. SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTION Our snwbarding team prvide instructin n bth ur Feldberg trips fr beginners t bk lessns. Our team als prvide tuitin fr thse with experience and can ffer caching fr advanced riders. Please nte ur minimum snwbard instructin age is 12 years. Final payment: When?
