2 Why Pat s Peak? Established Location Size Terrain Flexibility

3 Who should participate? Skiers and Snowboarders in grades 1-8 (must be age 6 by 1/1/17). Seedlings and Sprouts students (grades 1-3) will need to have a parent chaperone on the mountain with them. All other students will be assigned an adult chaperone who may or may not be skiing on the mountain with them. These students should have some experience dressing for and participating in the sport.

4 When will the club meet? Monday, January 9 (skip Jan. 16 MLK day) Monday, January 23 Monday, January 30 Monday, February 6 Monday, February 13 Depart Birches at 2:30pm and return to Birches by 8:30pm.

5 How will we get there? Busing provided by First Student. The actual cost is dependent on the number of students who register and will range between $ per student for the 5 weeks of transportation. If you are interested in busing, fill out the form on the table and return it to Birches by October 28 to reserve your space on the bus. Soon there after, you will receive a request for payment for the transportation portion ONLY. Parents can also transport their children themselves for no additional fee.

9 What is the cost? Lift / Lesson $160 Lift / Lesson / Rental $205 Lift Only / Rental $160 Lift Only $105 Lift Only Passes are for Middle School students who are a level 5 skier/boarder or higher. Level 5 skiers can match their skis throughout the last half of their turn. Level 5 boarders can readily link turns and control speed by turning.

10 How can I help? We need parent chaperones both on the mountain and in the lodge. A chaperone is an essential part of this program. It is a fun atmosphere and really a great way to enjoy the winter and spend time with your kids, their friends and other Birches families. You will be assigned 3-5 students to keep your eye on and assist while at Pat s Peak. Pat s Peak will provide a number of chaperone passes for skiing chaperones (depending on the number of students registered).

11 How can I sign my child up? Registration will open online at patspeak.com at 8am on October 18. Detailed instructions are on the table by the door and will be ed to all Birches families in grades 1-8. Please make sure you give your most frequently looked at address on the registration. A $25 late fee will be imposed by Pat s Peak starting November 16. You can contact Judy at or jpsette@myfairpoint.net if you have any questions or concerns.

12 A few things to know Helmets are mandatory! Rental items offered: Skis, snowboards, poles, boots, helmets. Students are placed in lesson levels based on what you put on the registration. After the first lesson, they may be moved up or down accordingly. Pat s Peak offers a café card at a discount ($40 card for $33). This is a card the student can carry with them and use at the lodge (in lieu of carrying cash). Pat s Peak will give bonus passes for additional days at Pat s, Cranmore and Gunstock Ski Areas. For parents who may want to join in the fun. Pat s Peak offers a Frequent User Card for (5) lift tickets at $160 or a LTS/R (Learn to Ski/Ride) Family Ticket for a discounted lift price of $34 per evening (3pm close).

13 Cancellations If school is cancelled for the day, the program will also be cancelled. Otherwise, the program will most likely run. It is important to be prepared for cold weather (hand warmers, dress in layers, extra gloves and socks). If the session is cancelled, Pat s Peak will reschedule the lessons at a later date and you will be notified of the cancellation by Birches Academy via your preferred method.
