2 GROUSE TYEE SKI CLUB GRADS Tyee Georgia Simmerling is a World Cup athlete, as a member of Team Canada s Ski Cross team. Georgia is an Olympic medalist in both the Summer and Winter Games! Tyee Sam Mulligan is a member of the Canadian Alpine Development Ski Team. In the season, Sam s first year on the team, he captured two topten performances at the FIS Junior World Ski Championships with a fourth-place in super-g and a ninth-place in alpine combined. He also won the Sugarloaf, USA alpine combined Nor-Am Cup race. Tyee Frances MacDonald, member of the BC Ski Team, won a gold medal in U19 women s slalom at the Sport Chek 2017 U19 Canadian National Alpine Championship, becoming the U19 National Super-G Champion. Tyee Antonia Wearmouth is a current Member of the BC Ski Team. Tyee Kristina Natalenko, in her first year as a member of the BC Ski Team during the 2016/2017 season has numerous podium finishes, including being the top 18 year old in Super G at the National Championships. 3 SINCE 1929 SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM 2017/2018 Page 3 Grouse Tyee Ski Club The Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club is Vancouver s ski club! We have an almost 100 year history and during that time have initiated and trained thousands of young athletes in alpine ski racing. The Tyee Ski Club has played an important role in the development of a sport that has come to form a big part of our local identity. The Tyee Ski Club is stronger today than at any time in its history. Its membership currently includes 742 overall members, including 268 young athletes, starting at just five years old in the Under 8 (U8) group, all the way to U18 racers skiing with the Vancouver Ski Team. Our athletes train year-round, on the snow and off, to develop alpine ski racing skills. Thousands of Tyee Ski Club alumni live in the region and carry with them lasting memories of their time with the club. Tyee Ski Club athletes compete on the Vancouver Ski Team, the BC Alpine Team, the National Development Team and representing Canada on the National Alpine Team and National Development Team. We have a large and dedicated group of parent volunteers and enjoy the best coaches a club could dream of having, including the inspirational World Cup athlete and Olympian Mike Janyk as our Program Director. The Club s new Blazes Race Centre, developed with the generous help of Grouse Mountain, is proving to be a tremendous training and racing asset.

4 SINCE 1929 SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM 2017/2018 Page 4 Corporate Sponsorship of the Tyee Ski Club Corporate Sponsorship allows the volunteer driven and self funded Tyee Ski Club to maintain a high level of training and performance from our athletes and gives local businesses recognition and exposure in a number of ways, including placement of their logo on all Ski Club signage, race and training banners and bibs, coaching and team jackets, the Tyee Ski Club web site and the team van and trailer that travels the province. With the recent completion of the first phase of the Blazes Race Centre the Tyee Ski Club are able to host high-profile regional races, providing sponsors even wider exposure. Funds raised through corporate sponsorships will go towards important training and safety equipment and Race Centre improvements. Sponsors will be provided opportunities to ski with us and to see firsthand the amazing skills possessed by Tyee Ski Club athletes of all ages. Complimentary Grouse Mountain ski day tickets and a host of other benefits come with sponsorship. Our four sponsorship levels give sponsors the opportunity to support the Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club in a number of ways from the Platinum level to Gold, Silver and Bronze.
