2 Hello Nubians. I know that these are uncer- tain economic times. But I that your presence at our activi- ings is missed. Our club also needs just want you to know ties and meetyour par- ticipation, leadership and guidance through these tough times. As we strive to have fun and make our community more fun, we need you to provide THE PRESIDENT S CORNER ideas and work to make that happen. Our recent Season Opener was a success. But it would have been more successful if more had been there. Omoye Cooper is getting our youth program started, but we are in need of volunteers. If you have not already done so, I am asking that you renew your membership and rejoin the fun of being a member of the Nubian Empire Ski Club. In addition to skiing, we have monthly social events. This season, we will host a meeting of the presidents of the Eastern Region of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) in Albany. That will include a social event to which all Nubians will be invited. The Nubians will have an anniversary party at Winterfest to celebrate our 5th anniversary in the NBS. That will be a great celebration at Smugglers Notch during Winter fest, March 5-8, I ask that you renew you membership as soon as possible. The 2009 ski season is off to a tremendous start. In December, another successful Eastern Region Early Out was held in Winter Park, CO. They knew we were coming and opened up Mary Jane just in time for us to cut our eye teeth in the graceful glades. This was my first Early-Out and I m already anxious to attend next year s (hopefully for the entire week). I am thrilled to announce that our Youth Program begins Sunday Jan. 11, Omoye Cooper is now accepting participants for this program which will take place at West Mountain. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to assist her. So please contact Omoye if you have a child interested in signing up or some time to volunteer. NBS Summit 2009 is just weeks away! And we will be celebrating 5 years as an official NBS club at this year s Eastern Region Winter fest at Smuggler s Notch! This is a DON T MISS event. See you out there on the slopes!! Pamela 2

Summit is one of the best ways to experience fun and fellowship with other NBS clubs from around the world! This resort is great for skiers and boards of all abilities, even never evers. 15 Backpage Intra-Club Ski Days Meet other NBSers from several ski clubs in NYC, NJ and Boston. These Intra- Club Ski Days will take place at Windham and Belleayre Mountain. The dates are as follows: Saturday January 10th at Belleayre Mountain Sunday January 25th at Windham Mountain Sunday February 22nd at Belleayre Mountain Saturday March 14th at Windham Mountain Tickets for the day are less than $35 and include an optional lesson! Folks usually congregate at 7:30am at a designated site to carpool to the location.
