It was a beautiful night for golf and was great to see so many people. Our August meeting will be back at Harbor Hills and with a special presentation put on by Jan Slee, of Discover Diving in Newark. Jan s shop carries scuba equipment as well as paint ball equipment. Many of our members have received scuba certifications from her and are now enjoying diving in warm water far away from Ohio! Jan is a great speaker and will surely get you thinking about your next warm water vacation. Also on August 19 we will be getting together at a Clipper s Baseball game at the new Huntington Park. Things are being finalized and we will be having a pre trip party sometime the end of September or early October. I will be sending a room list with your booking number in the next month. This will also include information about how to fill out your Fun Pass Info for the ship. If you don t already have your passport, be sure to get that taken care of as you will need it. We re looking forward to a great cruise with a great group of people., Trip Leader Learn To Ski Program 2010 Newark Ski Club s Learn to Ski program kick off this season with Nancy & Joe Swick at Snow Trails Ski Resort, Mansfield OH. Season starts January We will have an adult ski school. We will have a children program 12 and over. We will have children program 12 and under on weekends. We will have family ski programs and to top it off we will have snowboard programs. Something for EVERYONE! So, let s get started skiing/snowboarding with a great work shop at Snow Trails starting every Thursday evening with the Newark Ski Club. 4 Page AUGUST Spruce Hill trip January Ski Club Meeting Hocking Hills Canopy Zipline Tour, Sept. 27 Hi Everyone, We are very excited about having our January (2010) meeting on Friday the 8th at Snow Trails, then going next door to the Spruce Hill lodge (smaller lodge at top of hill next to Snow Trails - ski in, ski out). Beds at the Spruce Hills will be $75 per person and using air mattresses will be $40 per person. The lodge will hold about 16 people counting air mattresses, and we have a discount with Spruce Hill if you should want one of the private cabins. Just two months before our flights leave! Sunny Sunday September 27 at 1:30 and 2:00 P.M. We still have 16 committed flyers...and perhaps a few on the waiting list. How *do* they get up so high in the trees? Bruce Kern Last year our meeting at Snow Trails was Great, but then we had to drive home!!! So this time all we have to do is ski over to the lodge at Spruce Hill!!!
