5 DESTINATION OVERVIEW LATAS SOMO, CANTABRIA Cantabria is a Spanish province west of the Basque County and France. This picturesque region of Spain is breathtakingly beautiful, surrounded by the Picas De Europa Mountains and home to some of the most unspoilt beaches in the country. We host our surf camps in t he small village of L atas, which, which boasts a 3km beach, P laya De Somo, right on our doorstep. 5

6 SURFING Spain has 4,000 km of coastline, with numerous World Class surf spots and there is always an uncrowded spot if you are prepared to look. Cantabria is home to countless hidden coves and long empty beaches, making it the adventurous surfers dream. Beginners can learn the basics on friendly beach break waves under the expert guidance of our qualified coaches. While the more advanced, independent surfer can explore numerous surf spots along this stretch of Spanish coastline, including the Mundaka - Spains jewel of the crown. Whatever level of surfer you are we will use the latest coaching techniques and video analysis, combined with beach yoga and surf fitness sessions to push each riders surfing and style to the next level. So wherever you want to take your surfing, Spain will bump start it. 6

8 ACCOMMODATION LATAS SURF HOUSE Our picturesque surf camp is set in the small village of Latas. The Church of Latas is 50 metres away and the camp lies directly on the route of the El Camino de Santiago (pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela). When riders aren t surfing, there are plenty of hammocks in the gardens to chill and read a book, a skateramp to shred, a bar with a pool table and big screen for those who fancy a stereotypically Spanish afternoon The villa also has a mixture of shared bunk rooms as well as private twins and double, all complete with en-suite bathrooms. Real Spanish Surf Culture 8

9 EXTRAS YOGA Yoga is the best compliment for surfing. Helping build core strength and rarely used, but crucial muscles. It also helps rest the mind whilst increasing flexibility. 6 yoga classes are included per week. SANTANDER Visit Santander for a very unique experience of Northern Spain. Santander is stereotypically Spanish city with traditional tapas bars and little tourism. It is a 20 minute, 2 foot passenger ferry away from the surf camp. We arrange one night out in Santander through the week. CULTURE Visit the Pico s de Europa Mountains, The Guggenheim Museum or the Cabarceno Nature Park for a quick culture fix. Not included in our packages but if you want to do any of these it can be easily arranged.
