13 WAVELENGTH, λ Units (m) On a transverse wave, it is measured from crest to crest or trough to trough

19 AMPLITUDE, A Units (m) - how much energy a wave has. On a transverse wave, it is measured from crest to normal
20 AMPLITUDE - how much energy a wave has. On a longitudinal wave, amplitude is the width of the compression Amplitude
21 FREQUENCY, f Units (Hz) Frequency is how many times a wave goes by in 1 second. Number of waves/second Units for frequency = Hertz (Hz) or (1/s)
22 FREQUENCY f = 1/T f = frequency (1/s) T = Period (s)

24 WAVELENGTH, FREQUENCY & WAVE SPEED The greater the wavelength, the lower the frequency! Large wavelength means low frequency. Small wavelength means high frequency.
25 To calculate the speed of a wave, multiply the wavelength by the frequency. v = λf v = wave speed or velocity (m/s) λ = wavelength (m) f = frequency (Hz or 1/s)
26 EXAMPLE A wave has a frequency of 10 Hz and a wavelength of 1.5 m. What is the wave speed?
