1 NOVEMBER 2009 NEWSLETTER AMA Charter # PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Those of you who missed the egg drop fun fly in October not only missed a good time but you also missed one of our last flying days at the Club field for this year. Last time I checked there was about 3 of snow covering everything. Personally my hands get too cold to fly much in the winter so I stay sequestered in my garage and start my building projects. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did this year. Our club is lucky to have so many great members. It is so much easier being president when so many are willing to help. With that said, remember November is Club election. 5 OCTOBER MEETING RECAP A J Carlson Discussed Winterizing RC gear such as engines and batteries. He recommends storing engines treated with oil (Harbor Freight air tool oil, etc.) and cycling batteries. The Modelport situation and a possible new public airfield location was discussed. Aaron Loertscher showed his 456MB Foam Glider Tom Winter showed his Hotliner glider from nitroplanes.com, which he reinforced with fiberglass Doug Dorton showed a balancing adapter for charging 2 3S LiPo packs on a 6S capable charger, such as the Accucell-6 from Turnigy Aaron Greer showed a low cost LiPo cell meter and servo tester from Hobby King November 2009 Pg. 5 of 8

7 OTHER UP-COMING EVENTS Sgt Brad Horne with the Utah Highway Patrol will be our featured speaker at the November Club meeting. You don t want to miss this one! Sgt Horne heads a special accident scene investigation team that uses Radio Control helicopters to photograph and document major traffic accidents throughout the state.
